CG-5 stops tracking

hi folks,

A couple of times i have been immaging using my CG-5 the mount gets to a point where it will no longer track and i get star trails on the last few subs. The OTA is not hitting the mount anywhere as far as i can tell and if i slip the clutch it will still rotate. Anyone got any idea what might be going on?

Not sure, as I've got the undriven CG-5, but could it be a poor/loose connection getting pulled tight and breaking contact ?

I dont think so, i can reverse the direction with the handset but it will only go as far as this stop point in the other direction

Have you got the slew limits set at the wrong place perchance? Just an idea

Yeah, what Brantuk says ^^^^, you can set limits so that the mount won't go too far that things hanging off the OTA like cameras will hit it.

are these stops mechanical or electrical?

i.e the motor stops by a limit switch?

wouldn't be good if its mechnical and the motor continues to push

????
