What sort of budget are we talking about ?

At the budget end there is the Panaview 32mm:

Skywatcher - Skywatcher PanaView 2" eyepieces

The for a few more £'s there is the Aero 30mm which peforms a little better and then there are the Meade SWA's and UWA's and so on up into Tele Vue / Pentax terratory when your wife will need to be feeling extremely generous :)

Broadly speaking, you get what you pay for with the 2" widefields and each individual needs to decide whether the performance enhancements are worth the extra £'s, to them

There's also the William Optics Uwan and Skywatcher Nirvana 28mm UWA which seem to go for tween £150-£200 2nd hand. One went on flea bay recently for £169. Superb, but huge eyepieces.

Keep an eye out on flea bay and UK astro buy sell.

Andy.
