I can't wait and was wondering about any graphics intensive astronomy software out there?

Don't know personally but I would suspect it depends on what sort of computer you have bought.

Stellarium (graphics) or DSS (raw processing speed) is about as heavy as it gets for me, especially DSS - that will crunch through whatever processor you give it (using mulit-thread option). Helps to have a fast hd too, a solid state drive would be awesome ... drool....

Not sure what it DSS would make of the new hex-core phenom chips, it would probably eat those for breakfast too

If you really want to test your graphics, go play Crysis or benchmark it using 3dmark. Benchmarking always disappoints slightly though, becuase theres always someone out there whos score makes your pc look like a toy!
