Manok101
One of my targets tonight was the ring nebula and I was looking at the area my goto scope said, the 10" dob and the wide field eyepiece all I think I saw was a tiny tiny round thing barely visible. My question is with the 28mm 2" eyepiece was this it?
Breakintheclouds
It could well have been. The Ring Nebula is small but really quite bright. It pays off really well if you use a higher magnification eyepiece.
callisto
Just bump up the mag on that object, If it is, you will see the "smoke ring" effect quite easily
Talitha
I agree.. at low power The Ring is quite unimpressive and looks like a diffusely buffed star. Kick up the magnification and you'll see a ring... kick it up some more and you'll see an oval.
