Space shuttle

Heard the shuttle was pacing overhead tonight does anyone have anymore info on that. My wife heard it on radio so I'm not sure.

There are no shuttles up at the moment. ISS will be passing over though, check out heavens-above.com for your location's details.

29th is when the next shuttle takes off so if you look around the 30th/1st you might see it trailing behind the ISS if you are lucky

I use this page. Tonight it will only be visible for around a minute or so, but tomorrow is the full 4 minute show, making it's way under Saturn (visually!!)

You mean the International Space Station, it passed over either last night or tonight

yea it was the ISS, new she got it wrong.

I think I just saw the ISS pass over from South to E. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I checked with the online tracking and ran outside. I saw a faint object glowing in the evening sky. Took about 2 minutes to pass over. Definitely wasn't a plane, as I used my minocular. There were not any red lights.

That sounds like it!! This will be the first time I've sine it since getting my binoculars so I'm looking forward to it.

It just seems to glide so smoothly, I love it!!

Yes seen it, was manually tracking it for all of 3 sec and it went into shadow and was no more .

Seen it last night WITH wife, Got a better view last year with the shuttle chasing behind, impressive sight to think theres humans up there.

I gave my dad his first look through a telescope at it last night. I put in the 10mm EP (75X) and I tracked it through the finderscope to keep it reasonably steady for him. He was amazed! "You can see the shape and everything" he screamed for the whole neighbourhood to hear!

from my location it passes right in front of Pollus at 9.51 tonight - worth a peek through my 32mm EP I hope!

Saw it tonight for the first time. Very impressive sight! Will try and see it through my telescope tomorrow night.

I took a look outside earlier to see how the skies were looking, and in a gap in the clouds lo and behold was the ISS serenely moving W to E and very bright indeed, one of the brightest passes I have ever seen.

The one ahead of the ISS was the Progress M-09M (41P) cargo craft which undocked earlier in the day from the space station

cheers that makes sense now, i knew it wasnt a meteor as it appeared exactly where the ISS was meant to be, going West to East, just as I'd finished watching that I turned round and saw this really bright light following the same course, I'll have a camera ready tomorrow if its going to be that bright again.
