understand I'm asking purely for scientific reasons......but what power green laser would be required?

Yes I'm curious too. From a merely scientific standpoint... :(

The security light gets a temporary reprieve. Once the cars had settled down I had a great first night!

Using a 26mm plossl with fairly high light pollution I managed to see;

M13, M81, M94, M92, M3

Also observed Zeta Lyrae (double)

Draco E 2348 (Double)

And my favourite, Saturn including 3 moons and the big storm band. (9mm plossl)

After just 2 nights looking through a mates scope i'm really chuffed that everything worked out tonight.

I felt restricted with just 2 EPs but my Orion delux kit should arrive tomorrow then I can do it all again properly.

Another convert :)

Have a look at this:-

:(

I assume that's on a sensor for when it get's dark (rather than timer), so the laser fools the sensor ???

(on my to buy list - purely scientific experimental use only - of course) :)
