  1. From the album: The Seven Sisters - M45 Pleiades

Final attempt at M45 until I get more data, when the weather clears.
  2. Hi again, I've started on DSLR AP recently and I am doing it on an EQ3-2 mount with the RA+DEC motor upgrade and the enhanced handset with an ST-4 port. Im capturing using Backyard Nikon on my laptop and I would like to dither between light frames, but I am doing it unguided. Reading up on the Backyard... forums it seems BYN does indeed support unguided Dithering, so that should be possible. What is unclear to me is if I can do it with the handset: enhanced-dual-axis-dc-motor-drive-for-eq3-2 My next question is, how would i connect my laptop to the ST-4 guider port? Using something like this: zwo-usb-to-st4-guider-adapter ?? Hope you can help me out, been searching forums for a good while now, and no clear answer to be found.. Clear skies!
  3. So as this season's first image, I have started on the Orion nebula. I had guiding issues, but with my newly polar aligned observatory I could do 150sec exposures without issues. 1h 37min total. 6x 10 sec 18x 30sec 17x 60sec 28x 150sec I think it's a good start to continue on. I have darks and biases for it, but they where taken after I processed. I'll save them for when I get more data. Let me know what you think. It's been a long summer, so had to learn 'everything' again. At lest I have polaralignment within 5 arcsec in both axies this year

    M33 2nd Try

From the album: The next step.

I wanted to try again on this for a while now, a gap in the clouds recently gave me the chance although it was literally twenty minutes: 19 x 60sec subs with calibration frames taken indoors. Quite surprised with the image for such a short exposure time.
