Not much to look at compared to the amazing shots people are taking, but with reasonable seeing and an atmospheric refraction corrector I managed to get a little detail from 55 degrees North. Beginning to get the hang of the data acquisition bit - sort of. 900 frames AutoStakkert 2 to stack Registax for wavelets Barry Jupiter 1_2018-04-21-011448-0000_pipp_AS_p90_g4_ap171 wavelets colour.tif
My effort from Derry last night - once I remembered to remove the cover from the field flattener. Doh. I know the North America Nebula is done to death, but this is my first time imaging it, and also my first time trying the Triad filter with my Nikon. I'm in the middle of the city but I was able to take 5 min subs! I processed in PixInsight, but didn't even have to do background extraction. I used photometric colour calibration to restore natural colour and then just did a bit of mild tinkering. I'm impressed by the Triad filter on my first try. Comments welcome - maybe I should try a star mask and try to bring out star colours? TEC 180FL with 1:1 flattener on Vixen AXD2 mount 33 X 60s with Nikon D750 (33 mins) Processing in PixInsight and Photoshop I took this from the back garden in a red zone. Bit of an easy target for the TEC, but I'm just getting used to it. Thanks for looking, Barry
