  1. Hi all, yesterday evening, I could do yet another lunar sketch with my tiny 3" Mini Dobsonian. Round about one and a half day before the full moon, there were still some craters at the western limb favourably lit showing fine shadows. Telescope: Skywatcher Heritage 76/300 Eyepiece: Skywatcher Planetary 5mm Date&Time: October 25th, 2120-2205 CET Place: home terrace, Dusseldorf region, Germany Technique: chalk and charcoal pencils on black sketching cardboard Size: 3" Diameter Hope you like it! Clear skies, Achim
  2. Hello, It has been a while since I was last on this forum, and I have recently returned to Astronomy after a long break I have decided to try and get back into it (Stargazing Live always helps :-) ). The main problem I have/had is being the owner an 8" dob I could never be bothered lugging it out of the shed and setting it as it is quite heavy, and not much fun in the freezing cold, so I have decided to buy a small grab and go scope instead - the Skywatcher Heritage range in particular. I think I am more of a casual enthusiast so one of these would be ideal for me and quick and easy to set up. I quite like the Heritage-76 or the 100p (I presume there is no option to upgrade this to a Goto system?!) Any advice is most welcome. Rick.
  3. Hi, I am a returning member to this site and would like some help with a new scope. I was outside the other night under a cold, crisp, clear night and was having a go at imaging, with not much success. I don't have a lot of money to spend, but I would like a simple tracking system so that I can practice my imaging without the dreaded star trails! I was looking at the Skywatcher Heritage scopes, in either the 90p or 114p Virtuoso; are these any good for imaging, what is the tracking like? Thanks, Rick.
