Hi all, the day before, I spent some time after work on the terrace and had a look at our star - through some cirrus clouds. This time, I did again a pencil sketch of the whole solar disc, even though it looked a bit "boring" now that AR2529 has vanished. Telescope: Lunt LS50THaB600PT Eyepiece: TS HR Planetary 7mm Date & Time: April 21st, 2016 / 1730-1800 CEST Location: Home terrace, Dusseldorf region, Germany Technique: 2H, HB and 2B pencils on white sketching paper Hope you enjoy it! Hi all, today I set up the Lunt 50 on the terrace to have a quick look at our star. At first I was a bit disappointed since there were no large prominences visible. At a second glance and with some fine tuning of the Etalon, I recognized that the solar surface was looking fine too: The two sun spots AR2524 (the left one in the sketch), AR2526 (the right one), some filaments - and at the edge even a small protuberance were visible. I took a pencil sketch of the whole disc in my observation logbook. Here's a scan of it: Telescope: Lunt LS50THaB600PT Eyepieces: Skywatcher Planetary 5mm, Celestron X-cel 10mm Date & Time: March 26th, 2016 / 1200-1230 CET Location: Home terrace, Dusseldorf region, Germany Technique: 2H, HB and 2B pencils on white sketching paper Clear - and sunny - skies!
