Bought this mount for a cheap price and I found out that there is something missing...maybe a gear??? I need your expertise on where to get parts for my mount or anyone who can 3D print the parts? -
Hi All, I'm fairly new to stargazing and was looking for some help with my telescope. I've been happy with my Meade ETX 90 RA for a while until it stopped focusing. I've traced the problem to a broken plastic cog on the motor. Back in the day I would have popped into Maplin to get myself sorted but I don't have a clue where to get telescope parts. I live in West Yorkshire and it looks like the Green Witch in Birstall is closed down. Would anyone be able to provide some suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

I just recently took a teaching position at a local community college. We have a virtually mint Celestron Nexstar 8 that, as far as I can tell, has had almost no use. Probably because of this, the center support post and accessory tray are missing. I don't need the tray, and it doesn't figure into the tripod stability, but the post does. I am trying to fabricate a new one (we have the machining capability to do it here), but I need some help with dimensions. Specifically, the thread of the post at the top where the rod enters the mounting plate of the scope, and the length of the rod. The rest I can make work. Thanks for any help you can provide! Robert

Hi friends, I'd like to make this sunspotter device for my personal use. It seems that I need to buy the following components: - Achromatic lens, 60mm, focal distance 700mm - Mirror 50mm x 50mm - 2 Mirrors 25mm x 25mm But I can't find any website selling any of those . I've seen lots of parabolic mirrors being sold in sizes >= 6'', I've seen tiny achromatic lenses, or lenses costing a fortune. Any advice on where to get lenses and mirrors is appreciated. I haven't looked for the plywood yet, but getting it should be easy
