I just made an account on here so I could ask this! I have been trying to install the camera driver for a NexImage camera (for a NexStar 6SE telescope) on my Windows 10 computer, but since I bought this telescope in 2004, everything is out of date. The problem is when I plug the camera into the computer at the same time as having the NexImage downloads disk. The instructions say that when this happens, a "Found New Hardware" wizard should appear, and I just follow the prompts to download it. However, this is not coming up. My computer recognises the camera is plugged in, but for some reason it only recognises it as an audio device. I have tried downloading a driver from the Celestron website, but none of them seem to recognise the camera is plugged in. The model no. is #93712, if anyone knows how to fix this problem. Well, I have finally got my head around recording and stacking tonight and since it was a crisp, clear sky and a beautiful Waxing Crescent Moon shining out my window I decided to take my new Neximage Burst put it in my Celestron 114 LCM and headed out to my garden with my all my necessary equipment with me. I followed a great tutorial on how iCap and Registax worked and used these tutorials to record the Moon. When the recording was done I stacked and processed the recording using Registax and when the final outcome came I was shocked how good it looked to me. Maybe to you professional astrophotographers it may look very poor. But for a first timer it isn't that bad right? I am proud of it and hopefully it will be first of many for me! I can't wait till Venus rises up so I can practice on an actual planet. Though I am aware of the way Venus's atmosphere is extremely reflective with the amount of CO2 in in it's atmosphere and nearly every image turns white. But having a timelapse of photos of it's phases would be pretty cool. But before I go onto Venus I am definitely going to practice on the Moon. A budding astronomer moon1 processed.bmp
Hi there. I finally decided to replace my old Orion Starshoot with a nice new Neximage 5, and at the same time got a laptop sporting Windows 10. The camera came with iCap software, version 2.2, and installation proceeded without incident. I got to the point where iCap was recognising the camera, but when I clicked on 'OK' iCap stopped almost immediately, at which point an error message came up announcing that iCap had closed and Windows was (allegedly) looking for a solution. I repeated the 'launch' exercise several times, always with the same result. It's really frustrating, as I just can't get on with imaging at all. Does anyone have an idea what I could try to get my Neximage up & running properly? Thanks Alan Stewart
