  1. Losmandy G11 head, cables, power box, panel, hand controller, and counter shaft. Good condition, but is just gathering dust in the observatory, as I have another G11 in operation. The reason for the sale, is I want to get a bigger mount, so my other G11, would be for a mobile/second mount. Ive not a clue how to price this, ive done some research, but its very hard to find a second hand price. Mount works very well, used it the other day for some solar observing, and tracked good. Ive used it for imaging, using the shoestring astro GPUSB hub for autoguiding via the hand controller and splitter. It doesn't come with tripod, I brought it straight for the pier in my observatory. Obviously collection only as its heavy, and best to see it working. Asking around the £500 mark, ONO. Any questions ask away...….
  2. Im after a polar scope for my losmandy G11................
  3. Would the NEQ6 Pro be adequate enough to support a Meade 12" SCT and also a guidescope? If not a guidescope, would anyone recommend a good OAG for 5+ minutes exposures? If not the EQ6, which other mount? EQ8? Any other brand? G11?
  4. Losmandy G11, c/w Ovision worm upgrade, Gemini L4 GOTO, tripod, 3 x stainless steel counterweights, PSU & Peli case. Open to reasonable offers. Losmandy G11 mount Ovision precision worm gear (NS0700408) Gemini Level 4 controller software 3 x 9Kg Stainless steel counterweights (made by Brian at Astroparts) Polar scope with illuminated reticule Upgraded Altair Astro saddle (both Losmandy/Vixen dovetails) 12V regulated power supply 1 long and 1 very long serial cable, with optional USB/serial converter, for PC control Losmandy HD-Tripod 2 x 12" tripod extension Pelican 1650 case (with wheels, extension handle and pick & pluck foam) Printed colour manual Imperial Allen keys The head is in very good condition. Franck, at Ovision, replaced the worm gear under warranty in Dec. 2011. Ovision's worm gear measurement results are available. The mount has been used exclusively for imaging up to Feb. 2014, since when it has been stored in a clean, dry environment. The mount is kept in a peli case, with pick & pluck foam insert. I have included the 12V regulated power supply, which I bought for the mount. This is a very good setup whether you're a visual observer or an imager. Also included: Altair 8" Steel powder coated pier-head, the tripod extension bolts directly to it and it's got adjustable levelling. Cash on collection or bank transfer preferred Delivery options: Collection preferred, mount is located in Kent. Will consider delivering mount in person, depending on destination. Happy to provide details if you want to arrange your own courier, for collection. Offers around £2000
  5. Hi I am the owner of NEQ6 Pro (belt mod) mount and I am seriously thinking about Losmandy G11. I have already read a lot about outstanding reputation of G11 so I would be grateful if somebody could share with me personal experience. Is there any difference in tracking accuracy beetwen NEQ6 and G11? Some users written about 76 second error (PE) which is typical for this mount (at least in older version) - does new version of Losmandy G11 eliminates this error? And finally, does worth to make the exchange? Below is a screenshot of my last session (M101) where you can see Tracking Error Graph of my NEQ6 - is there space for improvement with G11?
  6. Good evening chaps (and chappettes), the clouds have rolled in so I thought i'd use my time wisely. I'm currently running a 200PDS on a G11, Gemini 1L4, with C2A as my planetarium and PHD2 as it's awesome. All is well, my alignment is great, and i manage good 5min subs from my dslr. 10mins works too if I bother to drift align (mod 1100d). However, I have an issue. I can't get my head around the meridian flip. If I nip outside at an opportune time and ask C2A to do it for me, then it asks for all sorts of parameters that i don't know. Do I just make them up? I've upped the slew speed to 1500 in the losmandy driver, as i've put hi torque motors on my G11 and it's great. Still Gem1, L4, but since i use a PC i don't miss Gem2. Do I put similar numbers into C2A, and if so, what is the centering and guide speed?? I've also bought SGP, but I am reticent to waste a valuable clear night playing with it, when I could be imaging... I'm sure we've all been in this situation! Same reason I haven't put the 120ED with moonlite motor focuser on the mount yet. Actually, that isn't true... That one isn't on there as the wife might see it and realise I've been shopping again! Please someone tell me SGP is worth learning. Currently it looks alien to me.... But really... Do i have to bite the bullet and embrace SGP, and if so, can someone point me to a decent newbie tutorial? or am I missing something mega obvious in C2A... thanks, as ever. Jim
