Interested to buy your 11mm Televue Delite in good condition, boxed and with caps. I can tolerate fair wear such as marks on the barrel but nothing on the coatings or glass. Put the money towards a Delos?

Hi, I know that there has been a couple of threads on how to collimate a newtonian, more specific, how to center the secondary mirror under the focuser.I bought mine "Concenter eyepiece" for almost a year ago and can't praise it enough - it makes centering the secondary a breeze.Have anyone else tried this? What is your opinion?I have also read that some have questions of how accurate it is? - I might not know the answer to this question, but what I do know is that after I have been centering the secondary with the Concenter eyepiece, I finish of the collimation with the Catseye XLKP and Black

Hi! First post - I'm aware this is a question asked a lot, but after a lot of post reading and over saturation of information I've decided asking the question myself to you guys is the only solution! I've just become an owner of the Heritage 130p, just wondering whether a decent eyepiece set is realistic? My budget is in the £40-£70 range, aware this might only achieve one eyepiece? I've not picked an area of interest yet although I would love to hunt out DSOs. I'm in NE London so light pollution is a big factor. Many thanks! Rich

In market for a good quality, reasonably priced long focal length 1.25 eyepiece to increase fov and help locate and view large objects. Celestron makes a 32mm for @$45.00. Is it any good? Price seems too good to be true. What are good quality/price options?

Hi, i have made a video where i show a coople of eyepieces that i use and like, and also show how a barlow works, compared to the "Powermate" from Televue. And how is the FOV affected when changing the magnification with different eyepieces? Feel free to comment and give me feedback - I hope you like the video! /Daniel

Gt my telescope based on recommendations here years ago. Its getting dusty though. Really just want to see as many planets in solar system as possible please. I read plenty but its too much to remember sorry. Struggled just looking at the moon Most things said barlows are a stepping stone. Can someone point out an eye piece on first light optics or something similar in UK please. Its for me and my 6 year old space obsessed son. Also a polarising filter if there worth it. Is a collimater cap as easy as a laser? I wont get round to making one so ill buy. Last step would

Hello, I am having a problem with a relatively expensive flat field eyepiece in a combination with a newtonian reflector. I am unable to achieve proper focus with that eyepiece because when I focus it on axis, the edges are blurry. When I focus it at the edge, the center field is out of focus. I don't want to mention the concrete type of this eyepiece because I received it with a spot on the bottom barrel, therefore I cannot be sure whether it has been dropped. This eyepiece has very good reviews on this forum. Optically it looks good and there is no rattle. My question is whether these flat f

Baader optical wonder solution is practically Isopropyl alcohol. Instead of £12 for a 70mL of it, buy a 1000 mL of Isopropyl alcohol for £22 (before pandemic it was only £5). They have also smaller bottles which will be cheaper of course. The Baader solution and Isopropyl alcohol don’t remove the toughest of fungi on optics, only a few of the less deep set ones can be treated with them. I have used both for cleaning eyepieces and on certain stage of cleaning several 8 to 12 inch mirrors. They both worked identical. When applied through an optical cleaning fabric, they remove ( dissolve) fatty

Hello everyone I've just bought my first telescope, a 10 inch Dobsonian, Saxon brand (same as Skywatcher). In daylight I've collimated it with a laser collimator. Also in delight I've centred the finderscope on a house on the horizon (probably 5 km away). The image is inverted and the left side appears on the right. I understand that's normal. The house is also centred in the eyepiece and the view is inverted and left appears right, as with the finder scope. BUT the horizon is at about a 60 degree angle ( see pdf sketch attached). Is this normal? Or am I doing something wro

Does anyone who has one of these zoom eyepieces know if there is a t-thread hidden under the twist-up rubber eye-cups like there are on some other zooms? I don't have a zoom in my set yet and don't want to break the bank. I just aim to use it mainly for visual e.g. being lazy with one 'no faff' eyepiece or when I'm being more dedicated, scoping out the seeing at different magnifications before changing to a dedicated eyepiece. I'd only use it for occasional photography but would rather buy one with a T-thread. For reference here are the different branded versions I can find:

Hi all, With the advice I'm getting here, I'm planning to start my hobby with Skywatcher Maksutov 102 telescope. There are several models with this optical design, BUT it looks like they all sold out! Almost all... FLO still could sell a Mak on the older EQ2 mount. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/maksutov/skywatcher-skymax-102-eq2.html What would yo say about this combination - is it an obsolete scope, or the same as modern versions? How it this mount? I gather it can be also used as Alt-As, right? And one more question, with this long focal length I think as a beginner

Hi Everyone I need some eyepiece recommendations. I currently own a set of Meade Series 4000 UWA and SWA eyepieces. These are my pride and joy and are awesome eyepieces. Much better than the new Series 5000 range. I've not been keeping up with equipment news and reviews for a few years as I prefer my current eyepieces. However, I'm getting back into public observing events and was hoping you could recommend good UWA eyepieces that won't break the bank. I can't afford Televue and I wouldn't want to use works of art such as Televue or my Meade eyepieces for public use. W

Hi everyone! I have a Celestron Astromaster 114 eq (114/1000mm), and I do use it whenever I can, but I'm still quite the newbie when it comes to observing. My point is, I'd like to observe the planets, but I dont't think the standard eyepieces that came with my telescope (10 mm and 20 mm) are powerful enough for that. For reference, the "furthest" I could see were the rings of Saturn , but they were very small and faint too. Are there any specific eyepieces you could recommend? :) And of course, any tipps and advice are also very much appreciated. Thanks, Sophie.

I thought my eyepiece collection was complete until I bought my "last ever" telescope. This operates at a native F8 and is just over 3250mm fl. I have the longer Naglers, 31, 26, 22, 17 etc and 35mm, 27mm Panoptics. I was always a little disappointed with the kidney-beaning in the Naglers in other telescopes, though they were overall better than any other eyepiece I have used, but in this one they seem to be affected less and even the 26mm is now a keeper. Before I got the Naglers (over many years all s/h) I had 35, 27 and 19 Panoptics. These were my favorite eyepieces until the Nagler

Hi, I have a skywatcher 200p dob and was hoping someone would be able to recommend an eyepiece with a wide field of view that would help finding objects and observing larger objects like the Pleiades. I have had a look at an explore scientific 30mm with 82° FOV, but was unsure if it would be good with my scope. Thanks Katie

Hey guys!i need to make this quick! I want to get a new 6mm eyepiece.I have a 8" f6 dob and i want to get a nice 200 mag and put the telescope to its limits at 400x The most i ve seen with is 240x for Jupiter and Saturn .i ve heard they looked stunning at 400x and i am keen on trying it.Ive got my eyes on a 6mm Skywatcher UWA eyepiece.and i have a Bst Starguider 2z Barlow lens. And i seem to be having problems with my 8mm Bst Starguider (300x in total).the bst has a 16mm eye relief and a 21mm lens diameter, but when i barlowed it and look at the moon yesterday,it was hard finding the right
