  1. Hello, I wonder how can I mount the ZWO ASI 60mm Guidescope on the Evostar 72ED (elsewhere than the Vixen Style Finderscope Shoe, because the guidescope seems to be a bit too heavy). Do I need a Vixen Bar of a specific length ? Or another type of adaptor ? Is someone using another solution ? Thanks !
  2. Being a 1200mm f8 achromat, how much CA would there be in the SW Evostar 150mm?

    Quark Images

I've been using a Quark chromosphere now since May and just wanted to share what an absolute delight this piece of equipment is (albeit I never seem to have enough cloud free sky to get it right on band). I had been using a ST80 but felt this was lacking and not a great match for the Quark in terms of focal length. I've since moved to a 120mm refractor and hope the images show how capable the Quark is.
  4. Due to a personal issue I need to sell my Skywatcher Evostar 80ED DS-Pro f7.5 refractor. This scope needs no introduction to astronomers as its status is well known for both visual use & astrophotograghy. Comes with an aluminium carry case, 6x30 straight through finder, 90 degree 1.25" diagonal, but the scope allows also for 2" diagonals to be used also. Also included is a camera adapter that screws straight on to the focuser tube also. A smooth dual speed Crayford focuser allows for accurate focusing. Excellent condition, with super clear optics. Looking for £270 for the scope. If required I also have up for sale an AZ4 mount that I am selling seperately in another thread for £100, but willing to sell the scope & the AZ4 mount together as a package (great grab and go combination) for £350. Will post pictures up soon. Willing to meet up with buyer within an hour or so from Hull, or am quite regularly down in Romford area for work, so will be travelling down the A1 or M1 route on Tuesday to stay in Brentwood until Friday. Any questions please ask.
  5. Hi I am looking for an Evostar 80ED DS Pro telescope must be in good condition. I am based in York willing to collect within 40 Miles. Thank you Martin
  6. 4 years after buying a Sky-Watcher dual speed Crayford focusser, I decided to fit it to my Evostar refractor tonight. I got a bit of a shock when the new focusser would not fit inside the Evostar white collar. I ended up sanding the white paint away from the inside of the collar with some wet & dry sand paper. It now fits like a glove but is this normal to have to do this?
