  1. Hi, As in the photo, I have a SW150P and I am trying to attach an ST80 as a guide scope. My understanding is that I need to connect the ST80 to a dovetail and then the dovetail onto the top of the 150p? If that's the case In the box of my 150p I found a dovetail that looks identical to the one already on it (See photo). Do they come with 2? So, can I use this dovetail to connect the ST80 to the 150p? Hope this makes sense, Thanks
  2. All, Can someone please explain/detail the various dovetail 'types' available? Is there one type that's better than another? Is there one type more suited to differing scope types? confused.com Cheers in advance ...Mark
  3. It would be good somewhere to list the fettling done by Skywatcher on its EQ8. I've just got one and I'm please to say those tough to tighten bolts on the saddle (to retain the OTA) have been recessed with an allen socket. Previously you risk slicing your fingers apart trying to get a grip in the confined space. Pix attached. Just buy a T handle and even getting the C14 on board is easier.
  4. Remembered I had this when perusing the wanted pages. Not needed in there, but I guess I still don't need it as I mounted my ST80 in a slightly "unorthodox" way that didn't need the dovetail in the end. Its a nice solid dovetail, designed specifically for the ST80, but I'm sure it can be used for a variety of purpose. It is marked and scratched as would be expected with a dovetail. Comes with two M6 bolts. £25 inc postage on FLO So offering for £17 inc. delivery (paypal preferred) OBO
  5. Simple Vixen dovetail and ring pair to attach in a piggyback style a 80mm refractor telescope to your main scope using a ghetto style solution. Download the models from Thing 2378540.
  6. Dovetail Bar 21cm Skywatcher 'Vixen'- type dovetail bar. 21 cm long. Generally good condition, but with inevitable small indentations from securing bolt on puck down one side. Comes with bolts for correcting cone error. NOW SOLD
  7. I'm selling Geoptik dual vixen mounting bar with vixen dovetail. In full working order. £97 inc UK mainland postage.
  8. Has anyone ever replaced the stock Celestron/Meade dovetail bar with the one from ADM? Any advantages to this? I am referring to these http://www.astropix.com/FORSALE/C11_Dovetail/C11_Dovetail_1.JPG thanks
  9. Surplus to requirements, and therefore up for grabs a nice ADM Losmandy dovetail and clamp. Dovetail came to me pre-loved with a scope, clamp I bought new. As both are indestructible, they are in as good a condition as you will find, with the expected traces of normal use. See photo for dimensions. Note: prices in EUR (euro)! ADM Losmandy Dovetail: 35 euro ADM Losmandy Clamp: 20 euro I will take 50 euro for the pair. SOLD to @Tonynexevo925 Will ship to the UK at cost. PayPal no fees / fees paid please. I welcome any queries or comments. Thanks for your interest.
  10. Hi all. Just done an improvement to my AZ3 mount to allow easier & quicker changing of any telescope that will work OK with the mount. I have looked for a similar way to add a dovetail mount to the stand, but didn't find any easier way than this. I found a way to do this with two items available quite easily (and pretty cheaply) to enable this, which also doesn't require any extra holes to be drilled anywhere in either the mount or the relevant holders either. The two items required for this mod are; Camera adapter plate for AZ3 for £16; https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/camera-adaptor-plate-for-az3.html And also a Universal dovetail platform, which I sourced from Sky's the Limit off eBay for £29.99; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381445730366?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The centre hole in the Universal dovetail platform can then screw onto the camera adapter plate via the large locking screw, with enough room for another securing bolt to secure it down further to stop any lateral movement to unscrew slightly sideways (one bolt shown in pictures, but going to secure with two bolts). The whole thing can then be bolted to the AZ3 mount with the supplied long bolts that came with the camera adapter plate. So if your not great at any mods that require drilling etc, this could be a good way to allow easier mounting/dismounting of your scope if you have an AZ3 mount. Photos below show my ST80 ED DS-Pro 'frac on the mount.
