  1. This is the result of a stack of images of the core of M42 that I took in February. I'm a new to DSO AP and not experienced at all! I have tried to do all sorts of things with the resulting tiff file from DSS (10 x 30 sec lights + 10 x 30 sec Darks + 5 Bias frames using an unmodified Nikon D7200 at ISO 800 on a Starwave ED80). I'm now being patient and slow and followed a PI workflow and I did a little PS to further reduce noise. Thought I'd risk showing it and hope someone can comment on how to improve my new technique in the future. Thanks for looking, R:)
  2. This is my first ever M51. 50s subs 20Lx15Dx10B (still not flats). Taken with a Nikon D7200 at ISO 1600 on a SWED80+0.8FR. Processed with PI and a little PS. I quite pleased with the results and wanted to share although I know it can be better :-) Thanks for watching!
  3. Hi, Last night the skies cleared in Essex and so I decided to couple my D7200 to a C11 again. I've been using recently this setup quite successfully for making moon mosaics. The seeing is not good at all these days so I've totally dropped the ball on planets. However, I decided to try for M42 core - trapezium region and managed to get a few 30s exposures (unguided), which I tried stacked using DeepSkyStacker. The exposures where taken in RAW(NEF) format and seem to stack reasonably well - not perfect as there are still many adjustments I need to make to get the tracking acceptable. I know a C11 is not the ideal setup for this so please bear with me. All the original exposures show some decent amount of colour (please see below). However, the stacked TIFF is mostly grey. Please, what am I doing wrong?
  4. Hi! My first post so I'm little nervous ;-) I'm still a beginner but I decided to show my work. Here are my photos taken in last 1,5 year with Nikon D7200, Sky Watcher 150/750 (Newton) telescope with Baader MPCC on HEQ5 SynScan mount with self-made bluetooth adapter and ASCOM jolo-focuser guided with 50/172 guider scope and QHY5LII Now I'm working on better post-processing and calibration of my photos... M51 20x300s ISO1600, 3x dark M97&M108 12x300s ISO1600, 3x dark NGC6960 20x300s ISO1600, 3x dark NGC7023 11x300s ISO800, 3x dark Leo Triplet 12x300s ISO800, 3x dark Best regards! Tomek
  5. Hi! My next 3 images from December 2015, May 2016 and February 2016. All taken with Nikon D7200, SW150/750 and guided HEQ5Pro at Lisow (35km from Czestochowa, Poland) BTW I've got a question... Which settings are better for D7200? Higher ISO (eq. 1600) and 300sec frames or lower (ISO400 or 800) and 480sec light frames? M81 and M82 (May 2016) 7x300s ISO800 3x dark M33 (December 2015) 11x300s ISO1600 only 1 dark frame M1 (February 2016) 3x300s ISO800 3x dark (only 3 light frames because of very poor weather and high clouds) Tomek
