  1. Hello There are observations that will never be forgotten the photos are there to remind them. Friday, February 15 for the first time in months the weather forecast for astronomy are optimistic. The day before I had to work with the 807 infrared filter to fight turbulence but this time the IR 742 passes the turbulence is still there but at times there are details. It improves slowly then at 20:15 quickly the images become much better. I see the scree in Clavius D. Instantly I switch from the IR 742 to the red 610 to enjoy it. Sometimes it happens after passing a plane for a few seconds. It only lasted about twenty minutes the turbulence goes up as usual but I enjoyed it. Here are some pictures made in the evening.   2. Hello I was able to enjoy a few minutes of very good conditions to make Theophilus After regular degradation forced me to work more and more in infrared until abandonment. Theophilus shows the capacities of a large diameter in good condition very rarely available. The following images are close-ups of craters almost never photographed so precisely by amateurs except Endymion. Most of their images were taken by satellites.   3. Hello The only picture I have saved of the evening, the crater Boussingault taken with 625 mm Barlow 3 IR685 and QHYIII5-178M. Sky still blue gives a low contrast film. So many hours of processing on this image. I hope you'll like. You can move back the screen if necessary. First a version at 80% and link for 100%. Clear skies.   5. Hello Very bad condition that September 11, 2016 with a low Moon, turbulence, wind, only the IR filter 807 allowed to see by moment the craters inside Clavius. So a lot of work processing to present you this image. You can imagine what it could give with good conditions. 24", barlow 4 (11m FL), filter IR807. Camera QHY 5-III 178m Reduced to 80% Clear skies.   6. Hello Last night it was windy and yet for the first time this season I saw details of Jupiter with my 300mm. 5 minutes after the 625mm was operational but moved in all directions. I removed everything I could on it, to reduce its wind resistance. Here are two pictures of the result. Click on for full résolution. Clear skies. Luc
  7. Hello the 625 mm and the QHY III-178m these two nights made wonder. These images are my best on these targets. The QHY-III 178 M with its pixels of 2.4 microns and its large field of 3072 * 2048 provides a real flight over the moon. I hope you have as much fun watching it as I had to do.   8. Hello First passage in this section with three nights of test with the QHY5III-178m in deep sky. Target : M57 I made the images and the first treatments but one of my deep sky specialist colleagues Christian Dupriez (http://www.astrosurf.com/chd/) made the most of these images and even colorized.   10. Hello After processing a film on the subject the result was not good, but he dragged one that ultimately was much better. This is in IR 685 which leaves a little margin to do better with less turbulence. Once again it is my best picture of this area. Good walk over. The lighting in the axis showcases the rilles perpendicular to the detriment of the main rille in which we begin to see details. the lunar Alps were likely formed by a sudden collision that created the giant impact basin known as the Mare Imbrium or Sea of Rains.   11. Hello Again big turbulence this morning on 15 films one gives a watchable picture but in infrared 742. I had to fall in a moment of average turbulence. I also diminish the image at 80% because 100% brings nothing more. Much work processing for these details. Taken with my 625 mm (24") barlow 3 IR 742 camera QHY5III-178MM. Clear skies. Luc
  12. Hello Bad conditions on France but I could still do some pictures that day. I used my 625mm, barlow 3, IR 685 filter and the excellent QHY5-III 178MM. Two versions of each image one at 70% and at 100%. Clear skies. Luc CATHALA Messier and Messier A I have not found better by an amateur on the web.
  13. Hello I am very happy to present you one of the most resolute images of the Tycho crater taken from the earth. The only one I know much more accurate was taken by the telescope of 1 meter from the Pic du Midi at 2880 m altitude. http://cdn.astrobin.com/images/thumbs/2779e738dc68a43e601feffd924c35b0.1824x0_q100_watermark.jpg I have taken it in infrared but I can do a little better by using smaller frequency filters but it is necessary that the turbulence is low.
