  1. I really struggle when viewing nebula as they appear really, really faint and barley distinguishable (expect M42, M43 due to shear size and brightness) this is due to heavy(ish) light pollution, I have seen there are a couple of filters that claim to reduce light pollution and or improve visuals of different types of nebulae. Do these filters work? And which one will (if they do work) work best for my scope (the standard 8" SW dob 1200/200)?
  2. A question for all 8" dob users. What is the shortest focal length EP usable for the telescope, I have a 7mm nirvana which is fantastic, they do a 4mm EP which would give 300x mag, my scope has a maximum potential of 400x but would the 4mm be pushing it?
  3. Hello... I purchased a Skywatcher Skyliner 200P Dobsonian approx. 12 months ago. Having been very happy with the scope itself, I am hoping you could help me answer some questions before I possibly purchase a new mount. My intentions is to hopefully take the 200p OTA and mount it on a tracking/GOTO mount. 1. Do you know the weight of the 200p OTA only? 2. Would a EQ5 of HEQ5 + dovetail/bars be able to take the weight of the 200p OTA? 3. Can you describe the difference between the EQ5 and HEQ5. What does the 'H' denote ? Have you heard or experienced anyone trying to use a motorized mount with the 200p DOB scope? Thankyou very much.
