Hi, Thinking of trying to get my hands on something a little better than GIMP for my Astro Image Processing (something that supports 16 bit images). (and basically Adobe Photoshop is too expensive for me) I expect this has been discussed many times, but does anyone use Cyberlink PhotoDirector 9 (£47.99), or Serif Affinity Photo for Windows (£48.99) for their post DSS Image Processing? The reviews on the above programs are very good indeed on the internet (ie) Tech Radar I look forward to any recommendations or advice from those that might know please. Regards Steve
Hi all, Has anyone had any luck using APT along with PlateSolve. I had a quick go earlier in the year and at first thought it worked well as i happened to be on target. However, the next evening I was off target by quite some considerable distance and it still tried to tell me that the object was at the centre of the image - it wasn't! I'll try it again come the darker nights but just wondered if anyone had regularly had it working - just to make sure i'm not flogging a lemon!
Hi, We will be moving house soon (hopefully) and I have been given permission to put up an obsy at the new address. I was thinking of buying one but thought that building one might be better for my needs. Not having built a shed before; does anyone know of a design program or app for building sheds. It's silly things like not knowing what size timber to use for the supporting framework or how far apart the uprights need to be etc. Any information would be most helpful; and then roll on winter!
Good Morning, Does any of the guiding softwares out there auto-correct a sync scan auto dob, with the use of a guide scope? The main use would be to to keep Planets in view so several runs of imaging them can be done in a session. I notice my XT8G does drift out of view ever 10mins at 250x. If I wanted to take gifs or many shots of something I'd need it to stay more dead on for longer than that. I have gotten as close to perfect gps coordinates, time to the second etc. Thanks Enrico
