Hi All, Last Friday I pulled out the new scope scope to have a look at the moon. I did the collimation and left it outside for about 2 hours to allow the mirrors to reach equilibrium. The view through it was BRIGHT, and I mean bright, to the point it was not comfortable viewing it with out a CIR Polarizer set to almost its dimmest setting. I could see that the seeing was not the best, it was fluctuating in and out of focus quite severely but I still decided to try to get a few images of the moon. Through the DMK41 and a IRPass685 filter the poor seeing was obvious, it was like looking through water. The attached images are a result if 20% best frames from 2000 frames stacked in Autostakkert 2 and wavelets applied in RegiStax 6, a slight Unsharp mask added in PS. Thanks for looking,

Hello Very bad condition that September 11, 2016 with a low Moon, turbulence, wind, only the IR filter 807 allowed to see by moment the craters inside Clavius. So a lot of work processing to present you this image. You can imagine what it could give with good conditions. 24", barlow 4 (11m FL), filter IR807. Camera QHY 5-III 178m Reduced to 80% Clear skies. An image of the mighty Clavius. One of the larger craters at 225KM in diameter. A very impressive walled plain that contains an arc of addition craters diminishing is size from 55KM (Rutherford) down to 12KM (Clavius J). Moretus is further towards the pole, and is around 114KM. It has a great central peak rising to 2700m) and numerous terraces. The tops of other craters can be seen towards the horizon, and the south lunar pole. Captured with a ZWO174mm (using a 642IRBP filter), on a Celeron Edge1100HD and CGEMDX mount. Image capture was via OACapture, stacked in Autostakkert2, Sharpened in Registax, finished in photoshop. This is an inverted image, as I find I can make out more detail this way. Full Size viewable on Flickr -

Taken with smartphone Samsung Galaxy fame(GT-S6812) no lens, barlow 2x, 150mm chinese mirror kit, dobsonian mount homemade....Unfortunately processed on computer(no bonus consideration, i know rsrs). Stacking with AS!2, processed with Registax 6 and photoshop.-

I haven't done any lunar stuff for ages, but I do enjoy it. I managed to get these two back in October: Copernicus Clavius Equipment as per sig, QHY5liic through a 2.5x barlow, Pixinsight processing. C & cc welcome, hope you enjoy !

hello Unable to make films because turbulence so I take on old movies on my hard drive. A mosaic made with images of 2012 I reprocessed. A red filter causes kickback in the shadows, but the image quality allows a presentation to 150%. I hope you like the walk. Smallest details in Clavius between 550 and 600 m. Hello Saturday clear sky night I took the opportunity despite a good turbulence and the other from a fireplace. The turbulence is visible at the edge of shadows that I have not usually on my pictures. There was also a very very thin cirrus thickened at the end of the session with a beautiful halo around the moon. Click on image to full résolution.
