  1. This has been my project since the start of this season and now I think I´ll just leave it... for now I started last season (with a longer FL) but didn´t like how my Baader O3 filter matched the Astrodon Ha filter, so now I had to get a 3nm O3 as well. This is a total of: 60*5 minutes of 3nm Ha 114*5 minutes of 3nm O3. Shot with a ZWO ASI1600MM-Cool and a Canon 300/4L IS tele lens. The lens suffers from bad star shapes in the corners but I managed to get it decent anyway. Didn´t want to stop it down from f/4 either. Combined as a semi-RGB (or what to call it) from R=Ha, G=70%O3+30%Ha, B=O3. Processed it as LRGB using a combined Lum from 60% Ha L and 40% O3 L. I am really happy that I finally feel satisfied with a target! Usually I just get restless and move on when half of the data is collected. Hope you like it!
  2. Selling my LRGB filters 36mm unmounted , because I decided to use only my Narrowband and to invest in something else that I want. The filters are placed inside my Atik EFW2 at the moment but I can send photos if someone is really interested , so I don't loose my cc'd setup position. Are in excellent condition ,sold in their original boxes. The filters are well known so not much words need to say. Some info you can find here at Astrodons site: https://astrodon.com/products/astrodon-lrgb-gen2-e-series-tru-balance-filters/ The retail price is about £800 if I am not mistaken I will sell it for £500..............£375 Other offers can be accepted within reasonable price Payment via PAYPAL is accepted, buyer pays the fees. I post them from Athens Greece in A class shipment secured. I will pay the postage expenses. Thank you, Nikolas.
  3. THIS ITEM HAS NOW BEEN SOLD. This listing is for my personal narrowband filters (Kayron from Light Vortex Astronomy). They are the Astrodon Hydrogen-Alpha (HA), Oxygen-III (OIII) and Sulphur-II (SII) 3nm 1.25" narrowband set. These are considered the highest-end narrowband filters money can buy, able to produce images of exceptional quality and incredible sharpness, cutting through a vast amount of light pollution. The 3nm variants featured here are fantastic for pulling out fine nebulous structures clearly above background. For more information, please see Astrodon's website: https://astrodon.com/products/astrodon-narrowband-filters/ Please note that these three filters together currently retail at just over £1,710 from UK suppliers, €2,180 from European suppliers or $1,690 from US suppliers. Payment is preferred via bank transfer but PayPal is OK with an extra 2.9% to cover PayPal fees. I'll cover postage to you via tracked Courier. I welcome any questions you may have regarding this listing. Thank you for looking.
  4. THIS ITEM HAS NOW BEEN SOLD. This listing is for my personal LRGB filters (Kayron from Light Vortex Astronomy). They are the Astrodon E-Series Gen2 LRGB 1.25" set. These are considered the highest-end LRGB filters money can buy, able to produce exceptional quality, colour-balanced images when paired with a good monochrome camera. For more information, please see Astrodon's website: https://astrodon.com/products/astrodon-lrgb-gen2-e-series-tru-balance-filters/ Please note that this filter set currently retails at just over £560 from UK suppliers, €660 from European suppliers or $540 from US suppliers. 5. Sadly, this project is currently stalled by the atrocious weather but at least I have had one uninterrupted night of imaging to start the ball rolling! I'm aiming for a bi-colour rendition combining Ha and OIII data at 3nm. I have a lot of data capture to go but it's a fair start. Image Stats Mount: Mesu 200 Telescope: Sky-Watcher Esprit 150 ED Pro CCD Camera: QSI 683 WSG-8 Sampling: 1.04”/pixel Guiding: OAG/LodeStar Filter: Astrodon 3nm Ha Exposure: 10 x 1800 sec Date: 31/07/17 Calibration: Bias, Darks & Flats Full Frame Cropped Frame
  6. I recently bought an Astrodon 3nm Ha filter for my new mono camera. It was half price so I couldn´t resist and 2 nights ago I got to try it for the first time. Yep, it delivers! The image was a breeze to edit. The only thing I have to fix is a backfocus issue (I think) that gives me elongated stars in the corners. So, this is 44*5 minutes with the ASI 1600MM-Cool and the Astrodon 3nm hooked up to a Samyang 135mm lens @f/2.8. My guider malfunctioned so I thank the short focal length for allowing me to shoot 5 minute subs Can´t wait to catch some OIII to make a bicolour version! Oh, I forgot - no darks, flats or bias frames used since I haven´t made them yet
  7. Damn you Astrosweden for having a Black Friday sale!! I had previously told myself that I could never justify the cost of 3nm Astrodon even if they are great. But how can I resist when they are half price? 355 Euros for a 1.25" 3nm Astrodon Ha-filter was just too good to miss. NO more Christmas gifts for me now...
  8. Hi SGL members! As I'm moving to 2" filters I wish to sell my 1.25" mounted filter setup. This setup consist of a kit of Baader LRGB as seen here for example: https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p563_Baader-LRGB-CCD-Filtersatz-1-25----Interferenzfilter---4-Filter.html @268 Euros plus the piece de resistance, the Astrodon 3nm ones; Ha, SII, OIII. New they are 608 Euros a pop.... Example: https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p5153_Astrodon-1-25--Narrowband-Filter-H-Alpha-3nm-mounted.html I will part with the LRGB set for £150 and the Astrodons for £450 each of £1200 for the lot of three. That is effectively most of the haggling done already. These filters rendered me six AAPODs in one year alone, and that was with mediocre OTAs and substandard processing skills... I can accept PayPal, UK or French, UK or European Bank transfer, I can ship from the UK or France, no problem as I tend to go back and fourth. Let's say £7.50 per filter shipping cost for insurance purposes. They will also be available for pickup in London shortly. The filters have never been cleaned or wiped. They have lived in Atik Filter wheels as long as I had them. Below: LRGB set to the left, Astrodons to the right. /Jesper PS There might be an ATIK EFW2 up for grabs too once these are gone ;-)
