Hi all waited up for jupiter so i could try Castrator software out as with have in the dob and it fly in all over the placeon the screen,this sofware sorts that out and makes registax catch all the frames i dropped one as i shot this all in 60 fps which was rubbish ,with the spc900,any way heres a link for it have a look http://www.astrokraai.nl/castrator.php it works ok theres no point me going any more into it ,as am not up to speed with it my self but its fool proof and very easy to use cloud came out just after a set up last night what a pain but any way http://www.youtube.com/user/todd8137?feature=mhee

hi its worth take ina few test shots with dif isos then get them on the pc before ya set the iso i always do as some times they may look good on the camera but not on the pc i did the same thing with m13 the other night 50 pics at 45 secs and they looked great on the camera but pants once put on the pc ,do not give up its all part of learning

had a few issues with use in the pluggin to control the scope ,but a hope o cure that today but we will see its a mile of at the min but a great freebie do not forget to download all the star cats goto configuration,klik on tools,klik on star cat updated theres about 4 to download also put you lihgy pollevels in

hi isaabelle hope ya have in a good trip things are go in well here the M list is go in well about 65 now and comets but take in pics now is spoiling just looking visaul as gone out the window,its getting darker a little quicker every night here and jupiter as joined the vigil,but video is hard to many thermals on these hot nights but autum is just around the corner, hope the rest trip goes well and you have chance to get the scope out pat

sounds like "the bigger scope" fever is at work already get a spirit level to make sure the base is level always pays,i spent the best part o 3 months just looking arondon a night and loved i .but a little reding and looking for things i esy once you notice a few const`s yo scope will light up with goodies pat

hi andy, a think most 1st nights out are a it of a heart breaker for a few reasons,ecause we all ways want more than are scopes will show us.ut do not give up yet . theres plenty to see out there and you scope should and will let you see most of them,you should try a few targets like cassopeia,cygnus they have plenty to see and lots of dif objects to look at and is a good place to start am sure once you start looking around you will start to see more pat

tried a few wide field about 15 0f each and a few darks cloud was a pain jupiter did not want to play either but here they are not great but the weather was ruish as well ut i gave it another go

hi mate what a session i would have bumped the iso up and removed the color cast (the orange ) but its go in well i got a few last night but went pear shaped at one point but 100 pic a bet you was die in for the end ?did you stick some darks and bias in the mix get the iso up.take a couple at 800,1600 and go in te house and load them up see which ones are the best (800,0r 1600)i did 10 last night at 800x 35 secs might post them later but good session you had

lol you could take them over a couple a days,or take say 50 but rember to keep move in the camera .when i look through the view finder i always try to get a a stars in each corner of the viewfinder and soon as they move get them back in thereits a great pic any way.but more subs will make for a sharper image pat

its better than the effort i did cool shot mate ,100 would look better but for 20 shots thats nice pic i would be proud to put my name to that am gonna try again that pic as got the juices flowing again

HI ALL last night i took 50, 4 sec subs of m13 on the camera every thing was great lots of stars in the glob,zoomed the 10d in look great no joy with the stack with darks ect. when i looked on the pc at the raws (iso 800) there was nothing there could not work this out heres just 2 of the pics which are single frames i deleted the other 48 next time a will take a few and check them out straight away

hi nice to hear about M13 its a nice sight in the 12" i have spent about 20 mins on it last ,lots to see there the more you look at it ya see more was going to get a pic,but it was late. was going for it tonight but as normal putthe scope out at 22:30 and then cloud came in again

Hi all well just spent most of the day play in about with the copy i brought of SN-PRO PLUS 6 and the ascom pluggin,man what a pain i no this is so simple to do and could not get it to play ball so i decided that stellarium is for me at least thats almost plug and play with the scope.with all drivers built in a can not send snpp6 back to the company off amazon "because you undid the box" we can not except it back . tried sn website the help section just blew my brains out my ears ,on the up side i ordered a new cable usb to serial and the other cable which came today. which i have no use for because the other one worked fine, i did not no that you needed to be logged in as admin on the pc to do all the ports ect what a pain .any way every thing is cool now so watch the for sale section for the cables and snpro pluss 6 and all the cables to use on meade goto scopes thanks pat

well things might pick up today hope the new cable arrives, these blumming ascom drivers and starry night pro pluss 6. all that money and its still a pain, stellarium as it all built and and its free what a pain am spending 20 mins on it once the cable gets here ,and that will be that if it does not works the cables will be in the dustbin by dinner time,hope the trip is going good .

hi all well phewwwww am glad to day is done because what a day its been the new serial to usb came today all excited i unwrapped it and thought good by to the old one which i trapped in the door 4 nights ago half a sleep,half awake ,i trapped it in a heavy door big ali one chopped it clean in half. so to flea bay i went thinking a cheap one at 10 quid would do the job,not!what a hassle it turnede out to be i riiged every thing up and thouht all would work well all plug and play the laptop top is about 2 years old from new and is dual core 4 gb ram graphics sound card full monty. plugged her in and it flashed once and that was it i could not work it out run the wizard drivers ok checked the port fine? then i tried and tried 20 million downloads latter nothing it was now tea time and my good lady came in and asked me to come for tea (she is not a fam of the scopes at all) and i had tea called my IT mate round and he had a play were upon he said there a problem made that funny whooo noise and said this and that he splitt 10 minutes later. i thouight it was a virus because the day before i let my daughter go on a game called habbo house one she plays on face book which killed the laptop ,blue screen of death 55 minutes later done updated and thought thats that rulled out i then came up stairs to the spare room were the ofice type room is and plugged just the cable in to the old tower was in to the com port,and not the usb to serail cabble screwed the nuts up and brought starry nights six pro up (by the way thats a lot of money and go for the free version the pro version aint much better) i kliked on the on a random star hit go and ran out the room with my fingers in my ears ,i grabbed a cuppa came back up and it was pointing the other way i tried stellarium and kliked on m101 and held ctrl and the number 1 and of she went tried meades auto guide fine . the love affair is back on then the mrs said she smilled and walked out the room the blood pressure is back to normal and the headaches gone am done rant over

to be fair i have now had 30 mins of fame this, and mention in dispatches in 1994,but thanks and it was a great pic most other clouds are just glowing with no color so happywith how it turned out

hi all sent a pic in to the local paper and they printed it i have seen many nlc pics but the clouds are normaly white and glowing never in color here they are i now no what they are they asked me to send in my astro pic but i think they not worthy ,yet! thanks for looking pat clear skies always
