  1. Hi and welcome, glad you managed to get the right scope 1st time round, it took me three scopes. to find one i`am happy with for.... now!
  2. Hi all, here`s a ponder for you all, i have been collimating my scope a heritage 130p , now this is a fast scope, i have collimated it and now it is slow scope? the mirror are not offset has described in Astro Babys guide at the end of the article, so the question is will the mirrors align offset anyway when collimated, ie because of short tube scope . Or is it i have done it wrong? i have done the star test and it looks ok to me, but.... the images just could be a tad sharper? yours paul.
  3. yeah i tried the 32 mm on a chimney pot with mobile phone came out well, had a go tonight with it could not see anything. The 9mm is too powerful for my scope very bad contrast and hardly any focus. yours paul
  4. i bet he had a auto tracker on it, hubble? you mean space station. ISS.
  5. yeah, makes you want to build one yourself, looks like some serious kit there. couple of dustbins strapped together? but where do you get the main mirror?
  6. I know what you thinking, oh yeah home made must be naff!! www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3447010/Brit-snaps-space-man-from-garden.html
  7. Hi, Isabelle hope you are well, yeah it was a bit of a pain, not had chance to test it yet, been bad cloud cover here again most of week, don`t make the mistake i did and not slide the telescope truss out fully!! ha ha. have you been out obs much? I have just ordered a philips sc900nc web cam kit with adapter and IR lens, £38, going to have another go at imaging, if the cloud clears. yours paul.
  8. hi, heritage 130p, the telescopic arms on the tube which slide out. no instructions with the cheshire.
  9. Well i splashed out on some new lenses, the revelation eye piece kit £127 from FLO, and a Cheshire collimator, and a sky watcher light pollution filter. Over all the lens seem well made an finished nice, had a quick go last night with them, the 9mm with Barlow rams up magnification but very hard to get good focus , and contrast very dim. The 32mm sliding barrel projection camera job fits Pliedies in well. Not quite worked out yet what you do with this . Probably the word camera is the operative word LOL.
  10. Hi,all been trying to collimate the heritage 130p what a night mare, i bought a cheshire collimator!, i used it other day to collimate the scope but....... few things you need to be aware of with a cheshire, 1. there`s a lot of play in the tube when put in the eye piece slot few turns of sellotape soon sorted that out has someone else had the same problem on here. 2 you need it a fair way out to centre the secondary mirror so you can see the mirror mount. 3 when you put it fully down to stop end there is a bit of play in it, some more tape on it to get a good snug fit. any way i used astro babes guide, got the secondary nice and round though collimator, but trying to get all three mirror clips in view was a right pain, only managed two!? any way centred the main mirror thinking that was easy...... until i stood back and looked at scope THE TELESCOPIC SLIDERS WERE 1 TO 2 INCHES DOWN not fully locked out!! what an idiot!! a few choice swear words were said, Had to start again! good job because i noticed the spider leg, only one on this tube was slightly twisted , had to undo the 8 mm nut at top of bar and straighten it up flush with face of tube. Any way i think i have done it right this time after 3 attempts. We shall see on the star test tonight weather permitting. Yours paul.
