  1. I have a Lunt LS80T Ha DS2 scope which provides absolutely beautiful visual images but now I want to capture those images using my ZWO 1600 Colour cam. I use a powered AZ100 mount to track and Photoshop Elements to produce a final still image. Does anyone have any tips on what settings to use in SharpCap to produce the best raw video images?
  2. Just sharing my solution to transporting the rather heavy AZ100 mount.
  3. I read on Cloudy Nights that one successful strategy is to add a cpf between the etalons. I can't see how a cpf would work unless you actually rotated the etalon in which the cpf is installed. By their very nature cpfs are rotatable. I have used the in photography in the past.
  4. Can any kind person please explain to me what size of circular polarising filter I need to fit my Lunt 80THa DS2 scope? I also need confirmation on how it works as if the filter is 'inside' the DS2 etelon then I would presume that in order to rotate it to get the best contrast you simply release the thumb screws holding the elelon and rotate it until the 'sweet spot' is found. Then tighten up. Am I right??? I already have Lunt's anti reflection filter installed but I am still getting a bright halo around the solar disc which does not make for clear images of the proms. Thanks in advance to any respondents.
  5. Thanks Louis. The one I have inherited is the original 1.25in version. Having a T2 thread is handy.
  6. I have just receiced one of these devices f.o.c. with a Sony W1 37mm adapter to fit an elderly Sony DSC-W7 digital camera. As this camera is well and truly out of production and I can't seem to find another even on Fleebay, does any kind soul know where adapters for popular cameras can be purchased for this eyepiece? If so what small (non-DSLR) would you advise? Is there any adapter available for the ZWO series of small video cams?
  7. Here's my solution to porting an AZ75 plus scope furniture, DSC Pro, tablet mount, cables etc The box is 24.5 litre plastic box (Really UsefulBox Co.) with the addition of a foam insert suitable carved to provide indents for each item. This fits comforably on a Cosco folding trolley with UNit-28 plus 80mm refractor on top. Hope someone finds this useful.
  8. Has anyone found a better solution for mounting the DSC Pro shelf to their Rowan mount which is better than the one currently provided. In my case, and I have two shelves , one for each mount, both slip badly as the single screw just has too little friction to hold the shelf and DSC Pro unit.
  9. I wish to mount my AZ100 Dual saddle onto my AZ75. Can anyone confirm which bolt size I require? There appears to be only two bolt holes avialable that match those on the dual saddle and each is larger than the mounting bolts used with the AZ100.
