thanks for that robin,what scope did you use and is the m81 cropped much,how did it compare with any cameras or dslr youve previously used,sorry for all the questions but looking to  upgrade from my dslr thanks again, ian

10" F5 Newt. The M81 was bin 2x2 and cropped too. This is the uncropped version direct out of SharpCap - still bin 2x2.

I have an astro-modified DSLR (Canon 600D). If you were planning on getting the uncooled colour version I'd say probably not to bother - it's going to be very similar to your DSLR. Cooled colour should be a step up same for mono in either cooled or uncooled (providing you are prepared to go mono - filters etc).

There are better imagers than me out there testing this camera, so I'd hang on a bit to see what they report.

hi robin thanks for the info was looking at the colour cooled to be honest ,just dont want to spend all that money if its no better than my nikon d750 ,any more info let us know please as the special offer runs out at the end of may  cheers

It's a popular scope - requires less cool down, but more collimation (alledgedly) - FL is somewhere between the 150 and 180 at just over 2000 - a lot of people have them and like them....
