  1. I took another crack at M42 but this time stacked frames per a suggestion by xtreemchaos. 18 frames (ISO 800, 5 sec exposure per frame). Much better results.
  2. Sorry. IIt was 0.8 sec (corrected above). And thank you!
  3. Thank you. I'll give stacking a few frames a go next time. Thanks for the tip!
  4. Hello everyone! I am still a rookie when it comes to astrophotography and I am definitely still learning. Any advice would be appreciated. I had a very poor polar alignment so there is a small amount of drift in the photograph. ISO 3200, 0.8 sec

I had a very poor polar alignment so there is a small amount of drift in the photograph. ISO 3200, 1/8 sec (THIS WAS POSTED HERE BY MISTAKE - MODERATOR PLEASE DELETE - SORRY)
  6. Prime focus stack of four 15 second images. I did a poor polar alignment and couldn't go longer than 15 sec. Next time...
  7. Yes. Approx 2 minutes of video captured. Top frames used for stacking by registax. I'd like to get more atmosphere features. Was told and read that a methane filter would help, but those are pricey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Saturn tonight. 3600 images stacked. Used a teleextender for the first time with a 26mm Plossl. Sharpened, edited contrast and a little saturation in photoshop. I think this is my best yet.
  9. Thanks. I'll try video through my T4i DSLR. 30 frames/second should do the trick. What are you using to process the video frames? RegiStax?
  10. How many frames do most people take? Are most shooting video?
  11. SCT 9.25". 49 images stacked. 1/25sec
  12. Ok. I'll give that a try. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Wrong image. Sorry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I shot and stacked around 30 images of Mars and the image looks a little funny (right side looks off). I can't tell if this is due to needing my 9.25" SCT collimating? Or I didn't equilibrate temp long enough? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
