Nice crisp image, simples....

Great shot, they rarely come down from the trees.

Thanks. It was quite low in the sky in portsmouth's lovely orange glow, so i will try again when it is higher in the sky.
-
Thanks bro. It was quite nice last night, warm, clear skies and got some images of the ring nebula to sort out too. Only problem was the mosquitoes were feeding.
-
Thanks Russ
I won't be able to make it this weekend because i am working all over easter. But with all these nice clear skies i will be out in the garden clicking away. More photos to come.

This is the only salvageable image from last night. It's not great focus and it was starting to get windy.
It is a single 20sec shot at 800 ISO at prime focus on my SW150p, manually focused by eye and the subject was in Portsmouth's sky glow.
I have played with the levels and contrast and slightly with the curve, but feel free to have a play ........if you want...

About 10 mins cos i am on earlies at the moment and wanted to get out there quickly
-
I thought i would have a little play with the 150p while there was a break in the cloud.
It was nice to be able to connect the canon straight to the scope rather than through a barlow like i used to.
This is just a single shot with no photoshop tweaks just a crop.

Great shot Keiran. It looks a bit like Bedhampton station from the level crossing but i'm probably wrong.
-
Great shot

I do like this pic. Especially in b&w the detail really stands out.

I think i may have it sussed now.
I have ordered another polar scope from flo and i am gonna make it fit.
The dremel and sand paper has been out to help this work.......lol

Should hopefully be picking up the 150p off Rob tonight.

Hi
This is a quick pic of the Orion Nebulae from Sun 9th Jan.
It was through my x2 barlow (for focusing reasons), 5 x 10 second exposures at ISO 800 (because of vague polar alignment........ yeah that's about north....).
Only a little playing with levels and curves in photoshop.

This i a great picture especially catching the iridium flare too.

Great pic. I didn't think we have any chance of seeing the aurora this far south.
-
That's a great shot keiran. Lots of detail.
-
That's a great shot martyn. As russ said, the seeing conditions last night were a bit murky.

A couple of quick captures of Jupiter, from Sat evening, with the new flashed Philips SPC880/900NC webcam and a 2x barlow through a SW Explorer 130pm (with the RA battery going flat, hence it's not as clear as it could be).

Martyn. I used a cheap logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 (£10 off ebay) with the ir filter removed and an old 35mm film pot taped to it so it fits nicely in the focusing tube of my SkyWatcher Explorer 130p. I then tinkered around with the gain, fps, gamma and captured a 1min 40 sec avi in some free software called wxAstroCapture. Opened the avi up in registax which separates the avi into individual frames and then stacks all the images into a single still frame, then finishing touches in photoshop.

Here is my first webcam capture from Wednesday 6th October 2010 from my garden in Gosport

I see alot of great sunrises and sunsets because of the shift patterns of my job.
This one though is up there with some of the impressive ones i have seen.
Great pic, so much colour.
