  1. I had another play with the polar scope and it turns out you can change where it focuses by adjusting that little cog that sits on the thread of the long piece. It seems to determine hot far the front piece with the reticle can be screwed on before it tightens. After changing it I found a sweet spot and both reticle and star are now in perfect focus. Now I can get as accurate as I want with the alignment , especially seeing as there are even 3 tracks really close together on the reticle and depending on the year, Polaris has to be placed onto a particular one. I'm trying to upload a picture with this comment (hopefully it works) for anyone who might be interested to see what I adjusted to get this working.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to respond! I'll try it again to see if I can achieve a happy medium. I thought maybe I messed with it too much or something since it seems to have an adjustable ring where the two pieces of the polar scope are screwed together. Just doesn't seem to do anything Thanks again!
  3. Hi Everyone, Sorry I'm so new to this, but I got myself a polar scope for my EQ5 mount and the first time I used it, it was really ok to use. However since then I have trouble seeing the reticle when focusing on the stars. It seems either I'm focused to be able to see the reticle but with the stars totally out of focus, or vice versa. Does anyone know what I did wrong here? Thank you!
