  1. A few ruffled feathers but as Billy Boy used to say pretty much ado about nothing... In my experience using NINA and Pixinsight, both teams of devs pretty much fix anything that crops up pretty speedily...
  2. I don't think the D3xxx series is supported by the official Nikon SDK which is what NINA uses (I believe).
  3. Very, very nice and lots of stars, plenty of stars, can never have too many stars!
  4. You already had the info but yep I'm the same as @Stuart1971 The only slight difference for me, just for conversations sake, is that my mini pc is now off the scope. The reason I did this is because I have an additional 2 chunky serial cables that need to run to the PC so rather than run them to it on the scope I moved it off. I now just have the one long USB3 cable from Mini PC to my Pegasus power box (plus the power too of course).
  5. My 2p for what it's worth but I am a huge NINA fan so let me get that out of the way 🙂 1. My setup consists of a mini pc running NINA and that PC sits on my network, connected via ethernet as it happens. I remote to that pc from either my Pixinsight workstation (ethernet connected) or via my laptop (wirelessly connected). I never have any dropouts. 2. Never used EKOS etc so not sure 3. No issues with platesolving. NINA doesn't do it directly but calls the tool you choose. I use ASTAP and have zero issues. I guess you could install NINA and try it without removing/changing any of the EKOS setup?
  6. Ah ok understood. I did assume it would be thread pitch but didn't know for sure....
  7. No idea on the actual adapter but it does say not compatible with Skywatcher's M54 thread if you're thinking of using it with the Esprit... No idea why of course....
  8. To be honest this was a bugbear of mine when I first started using NINA however it didn't take long to become workable and now I'm used to it the level of support and the dynamism of that support is outstanding. Yes there are some "characters" on there that have rubbed a few folk up the wrong way but in almost all cases the info you get is spot on. Worth persevering with Discord is all I'm saying if that's one of the few bits holding you back.
  9. I would just build one, it's a 5 minute job and then you need wonder no more 🙂
  10. I don't use Siril but I assume this is down to poorer seeing in the first half of the images due to high clouds, sky brightness or whatever. What "I" would do is stack them all and then stack just the second half and see if you can see any difference. I am never quite sure what a good or bad number should be so I take the approach I just mentioned, rightly or wrongly 🙂
  11. Why? You said the mount has huge issues and they say it doesn't so what's wrong with them responding to those comments given they're selling said mount? I guess you didn't need to post what you did but surely it cannot be a one way street here if you choose to do so. No disrespect intended just trying to be fair.....
  12. I agree that It's good to support decent software especially when it does so much for you. I'm a NINA user and I contribute monthly and took that decision based on the support I can get and also compared with what I would pay for something like SGP or Voyager etc. Additionally I am confident the support and feature list is in excess of those paid for products too.
  13. Nice setup and for free you could use NINA and its TPPA plugin for polar alignment. You don't even need to be able to see Polaris so if one of those trees is in the way then no bother.....
  14. Found this on an Italian distributor site so looks like 125 is the useable size:: Diametro utile125mm Diametro Wanderer Cover135mm
  15. Hmmm liking the look of the Wanderer too....
  16. I couldn't say that but my plan had been for a heater on the panel so when I came to flats it wasn't dewed up. I think that's not how it works so on that basis I would have no use for the heater plus I think Steve found it no use at the end of a "bigger" scope anyway. Edit, he replied while I was typing 🙂
  17. Quite, that's what I thought but then I read that the heater is in the piece that fits around the end of the scope so when the flap is open (gathering dew) it's not being heated...... I'll try and dig out the thread as I think it's spoken about there.
  18. I went Antlia as a supposed middle ground option....
  19. My view would be go 2" if you think you may go FF at some time. If not then 36mm should be just fine. I currently use 36mm on my 294m but I went 36mm just in case I bought a 2600 sized sensor.....
  20. Best thing to do here is join the NINA discord. If you've never used Discord before then you might need to persevere with the interface but there is a dedicated section for Hocus Focus and you'll find all the info you need there
  21. I don't have one, although I did consider it, so just in case you don't know (and I didn't) is that the heater is a "dew heater" and not a panel heater as I mistakenly thought. If you look for the review on here I think there's a suggestion it might not work too well as a dew heater and hence may not be worth spending the money on it. YMMV of course....
  22. Yes, use the message box instruction
