  1. Thank you both for your suggestion! I think I'd rather clean it off, as I see that those uv bulbs have different connectors, and I'm not sure if I have compatible socket. I read somewhere that a mixture of peroxide and ammonia is commonly used to treat lens fungus but I'm worried not to ruin the coatings? I know isopropyl alcohol is safe but will it get rid of the fungus?
  2. I haven't been using my Borg refractor for a while, and it's always been kept in a metal protected case with foam inside and plenty of silica gel. Yesterday I was terrified to discover a fungal spot at the back of the objective lens! Could anyone recommend a good specialist in London or Kent area who could clean it off? I read some tips on lens fungus removal, yet I'm a bit worried not to ruin the lens if I try and do it myself, apart from that I have no idea how to dismantle the objective. It is really weird, as I also checked all my lenses/cameras/binocular which I keep in the same room, and yet none of those seems to be affected? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi there, I recently got a BORG 89ED APO F6.7 Refractor, which I plant to use for imaging too. I had a search around for a flattener/reducer, but the original Borg-made stuff is already out of production, apart from being super-expensive too! I've read someone here, also a Borg owner, had a success using Hotech universal flattener: https://www.firstlig...-flattener.html But that one is just a flattener while I'd need a reducer too. Could anyone suggest a viable solution to this? Any imput would be much appreciated, thanks! Emil
