  1. I don't usually have any problems like that unless they are low down. Thanks for the advice.
  2. I have a QHY5III462c camera which works well with my Celestron Evolution 8 for planets. Does anyone know if the Celestron LX x2 XCel barlow would work well and improve the image size? John
  3. Is QHY 5III462c camera ok with Skywatcher Discovery 150i telescope? Just looking to take solar system images with occasional look at galaxies.
  4. I have a GSO 8" dobsonian and using the Bresser camera for solar system imaging. I intend to use my x2.25 barlow as well. Just wondering if there is a limit on how much magnification you can get with a camera, and how would I know if I have reached that. I know that with eye pieces it is 400 with this telescope. Thanks, John
  5. I have successfully fitted a Skywatcher Autofocuser to my 200mm dob. More detailed photos available if anyone is interested.
  6. Hi, would be happy to do that, probably more August as the nights are getting darker. I have been to a car park near Ocknell, Fritham way. As you say, would have to investigate the hotel option for horizon views as Jupiter and Saturn often not that high. Camping holiday for the next week now. John
  7. Hi, I'm Southampton too, seems you had better luck than me although I did go to the forest early one morning about 6 weeks ago for good clear views of Jupiter and Saturn before the sun came up. Hoping to get imaging this year too. John 200mm Dobsonian
  8. Also managed a smart phone photo last night on my new 8" dob. Very pleased with it.
  9. Thank you for your help, wondering what mount it will fit on safely.
  10. Hi, thanks for the information. You are a bit far for me to travel, especially in the short term with covid.
  11. Why is there a shortage of new telescopes this size? I have been looking for several months now. John Southampton
  12. Thank you, now I have to find one available, doesn't seem to be any stock anywhere. Would consider used.
  13. I live in Southampton and will do most of my observing here, but going to the New Forest is an option for dark sky viewing. At the moment I am interested in Moon, planets and DSOs. Thank you for your advice, which points to the GOTO dob as there is a fair amount of LP.
  14. I thinking of buying a Skywatcher Skyliner 200P Flex Tube SynScan GOTO Dobsonian Telescope, but I wonder if the SynScan is a good idea, maybe just go for a 200mm dob?
  15. Also in Southampton and considering the same telescope, did you get one?
