  1. I found this is going to be a great report after reading the topic .
  2. Just wait got @JeremyS or @F15Rules to come 😂.
  3. Looks like a rebrand of the Orion Lanthanum zoom which may also be a rebrand .
  4. @Jiggy 67 I agree , but all features in SkySafari pro is not available in the free version . For example , one can't add eyepiece circle by adding equipment (s) . Also one can't measure the distance between two objects in the free version . Making observation list is also not possible . And as said , the database is HUGE compared to the free version and you can even download the Gala extension to add other objects down to 18th mag . I upgraded from the free version and I find the Pro version absolutely worth it . But if you are a beginner , the free version is more than enough for a great start .
  5. A 41mm Pan / 40XW are other options too and provide a wider field , if you don't mind the larger exit pupil . But I guess it will be a good trade of for the wider field .
  6. A sound advice Mark with your example ! Whatever it may turn out to be Steve , get well soon !
  7. Are you kidding me ? Sahara desert's dust in USA ?! That's more than 6000km ! I've heard these dusty particles move and cause problems for the southern European countries . I have also heard Gobi and Taklamakan deserts' dust in India and Pakistan but these are wimpy compared to this ..
  8. Hey @Andrew* , can you please tell us about the North Lagoon Nebula ? Searching NGC 7398 , I get a 14th mag galaxy in Pisces 🤷‍♂️ .
  9. But Baz seems to own 17.5mm Morpheus too ... The difference between 17.5mm Morpheus and 12.5mm Morpheus is bigger compared to the difference between 17.5mm and 14mm Morpheus. It really depends on him . If the 17.5mm is stealing the eyepiece time of the 14mm , then there is a reason to buy the 12.5mm . But if it was me , I wouldn't bother getting the 12.5mm AND sell the 14mm . The next jump from the 12.5mm should be 20-24mm , but Baz already owns a 17.5mm . So 9mm-17.5mm is a reasonable one .
  10. What are the scopes you are going to mount on the AZ 100 Stu ?
  11. When I was scrolling and just about to see this picture , the eyepiece cap and black anodised body resembled a 8mm Ethos 🤣. Sry , Jeremy I hope you will not take it seriously 😂.
  12. In chrome , you can select the menu button and give the desktop site option . It will show you the signatures 👍 . But beware you have to zoom every time as the desktop version has different ratios !
  13. What magnification were you using ? You have to use quite high magnifications ( around 1mm exit pupil even for the brighter stars and smaller exit pupils for dimmer ones ) to notice the airy disk . Some may be able to notice it at 1.5mm exit pupil for the brightest stars but they are experienced in seeing the disks and other diffraction patterns thousands of times .
  14. Quite an increase in brightness ! This is really a very cool nova entertaining us over the months!
  15. The phone and the stand is way cooler ! Just kidding the Lego looks dandy . 👍
  16. If you just want to test the waters , the Celestron zoom is pretty good . But the SVBONY or its clone zooms get pretty strong reviews by respected folks ... Decisions decisions ...
  17. I didn't know smurfs were included with the Morpheus . 😂
  18. Did you see the first thread before you started this thread ?
  19. He said he had pre-ordered it .😉
  20. Maybe @Stu will chime in with his second look. 😁
  21. At what magnification were you detecting the component John ? Fantastic observations @John and @chiltonstar .
  22. You have magical backyard sky Kon ! Very lucky. 👍
  23. This will not be the last time for an amateur ... https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/amateur-astronomer-discovers-new-moon-of-jupiter/
