  1. My apologies to your pocket 🤣...but well worth it.
  2. Very exciting to see your results with the 462m. As you know, its zwo equivalent has given me fantastic results.
  3. Very nice. I was out yesterday afternoon and transparency was awful so I gave up very quickly.
  4. I am glad you found it helpful. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions.
  5. Thanks Reggie. Good value for money, and they work 😀. Looking forward to more of your captures as well.
  6. I would love to see a side by side comparison with the more expensive filters.
  7. Looking nice and still pulling details with the mak. Yes it's a nice filter for the price. It's good you are not suffering from the ghosting on your colour camera. I have removed the AR window from my asi462mm to get that extra signal but others here might advise against due to potential issues with dust on the sensor. Regarding focus it's quite difficult with the UV unless seeing is very good. I am only capturing during daylight and when the sun is still high up as the atmosphere is more stable. I noticed you have colour on your images. If that's only UV filter process it as monochrome.
  8. Thanks Stuart. I love the constant change of Venus clouds.
  9. I thought I would give my opinion on the Astromania planetary filters that I am using (https://www.astromaniaoptics.com/products/astromania-125-inch-secializedlanetary-imaging-filter-set-3ieces-ultraviolet-uv-filter-methane-ch4-filter-infrared-ir-filter)and I have also seen a few posts asking for UV filters. I got mine from amazon UK to try with my 8" Dob. You get a methane, a UV and an IR pass filter. I was very skeptical considering their cheap price as methane and UV filters can cost sometimes double the price for what astromania offers for 3. I tested my methane last season only once as seeing was awful but nice banding in Jupiter so I am really excited to try this year when Jupiter will be higher up. The IR pass is nothing special, it works (saturn capture) and finally the UV was the one I was really worried about but it has delivered some excellent images on Venus (you can see my several Venus posts). With the UV i was worried of ghosting which was apparent in the colour asi462mc when I tried, but after a few tests with a mono, the ghosting was gone and I have a dedicated mono asi462mm. The UV has very good transmission and with the mono I can still get the max fps for my camera at 300 at 640x480 captures (recent captures 3ms with a gain of 350). I do not have other filters to compare to, but from what I am getting, I am very pleased with the £84 (current amazon price); they are a bargain and anyone on a budget should consider them.
  10. Now I got your attention, ...take a look at the 39 pattern in the Venus UV capture from earlier this afternoon...and now that you have seen it, you cannot unsee it 🤣. Despite the wind, the seeing was excellent again and UV clouds have come out really nicely. There is a lot going on in terms of cloud structure but my eye is keep going back to the 39 and I do not like it! A false colour as well (IR/sG/UV) as well. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mm, UV astromania, 2.5x TV powermate.
  11. I will try put a review on the Astromania filters when I am back home tonight, it might be useful to others.
  12. Thanks for the feedback Pete. Yes dyadic mostly level 1 and 2. I tried the linear as well but I had to increase the levels quite a bit to get similar result.
  13. @Sunshineand @orion25thank you! Thanks Neil. I am glad they passed your critical (in a good way) and noise free eye. Thanks Stuart. Your tips on processing from last season have helped with my overall processing.
  14. I finally found some time to process my other UV captures from 1st May. I combined my two best captures and I think it has brought some more UV details out. I also processed the true colour capture with the asi462mc and UV/IR cut filter and some clouds are showing nicely. Same equipment as previous post.
  15. Excellent capture and processing.
  16. Excellent image. I am a Mac user and I use crossover for my processing. Everything runs without issues and no need to install windows.
  17. Excellent images. The details are exquisite, like flying over the moon.
  18. Thanks. Very pleased with the result. Lets hope we get more of the good seeing conditions. We were overdue.
  19. Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Astromania-1-25-Inch-Specialized-Planetary-Ultraviolet/dp/B07C3K7J16/ref=sr_1_4?crid=CG9M5V9CYQ84&keywords=astromania+planet&qid=1683025211&sprefix=astromania+planet%2Caps%2C56&sr=8-4
  20. Does your 12" fly you to the moon? These are just amazing. Some of the best I have seen, and also the best of yours. You are really enjoying the new scope, aren't you?
