  1. Nice. Try keep the white balance for consistent colour. The last frame seems the sharpest. Worth processing further.
  2. Thanks. I will give it a rest 😁 as you are all saying that it is nothing to worry about. And you are right the mirror clips are larger than a tiny screw. I just need a star test to finalise the collimation.
  3. Thanks David. It was the 'new' view through the new focuser installed last night, thus my query. I will try Venus at lunch time and see what I get. If the weather holds I will be doing a star test tonight.
  4. Thanks Mandy. I thought so, it was just unusual and since I do a lot of planetary imaging I wanted to make sure it is all ok.
  5. Thanks, we both posted at the same time. I took a better focused one.
  6. It is this screw here. It never showed on my previous focuser. It may be nothing but I wanted to confirm as the others are not showing.
  7. I just got a new focuser (a dual speed low profile crayford) for my 200P and I started collimating it. I noticed that one of the spider vein screws is showing on my primary. I did not have this with the previous focuser. I measured their length and they are equal. Do I need to sort it? I follow astrobaby's collimation and there two screws there. Nothing to worry about? It is between ~ 7 oclock. Collimation needs more tweaking as there is a tiny bit of tilt.
  8. Nice set of images despite the conditions Martyn.
  9. Thanks. I have done it so many times that seems a routine process now. How are you getting along with ISS imaging? I remember you had some issues earlier this year.
  10. Thank you both. I am not sure my setup has the resolving power even under excellent seeing.
  11. I had a nice ISS imaging session with my 8.5 year old son tonight. It has been a while due to the times but at 749pm it was perfect. He was in control of the laptop and he was telling me if ISS was on the sensor, which was great help. He also managed a look through the finderscope and was amazed at the speed. Awful seeing with jetstream but using an IR pass filter we got some decent shots. Not my best but always special to capture them with my son. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mm, IR pass filter, 2.5x TV powermate.
  12. The only time I have seen something like it was with Jupiter when I got the reference date/ time wrong; sometimes it calculates it for me but others not so I I had used an old reference. It might be the cause. Others might have better ideas.
  13. I completely missed your post on Venus. What cracking set of drawings and details you managed to pull visually. Regarding your last observation, you are spot on. This was my UV image yesterday, and you can see the brighter limbs that you referred to. Hats off to your observing skills and sketches.
  14. Yes sir!😉 I will try, I remember your excellent animation back in June so the standards are high.
  15. I agree with Stuart a bit noisy but more details on the last set . Worth playing with derotation, it had helped my captures this season, as I seem to control the noise better.
  16. Thank you both. The 'cloud' season will start again for me.
  17. Thanks Steve. It's getting exciting again.
  18. Venus disc size is increasing and I had a quick session to capture UV clouds this afternoon. I think in a week or two we should be getting some nice details if the weather is stable. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mm, UV and IR pass filters, 2.5xTV powermate. False colour by combining the IR (red)/ IR:UV (green)/UV (blue).
  19. Yes it's not huge amounts of details but they seem to pop more, maybe the harder pushing is helping, a bit less noisy too.
  20. I have never made drizzle work for me but I think your drizzled image shows some more details (assuming similar way of processing) at the NEB, SEB and EZ.
  21. Great shots and a nice write up as always Avani.
  22. I kind of recollect now. I suppose under excellent seeing you could go higher but these images are looking excellent. Worth trying Uranus with the IR as it's northern polar hood is starting to face us but you can still get a district banding. Even with my 8" and IR I could capture it.
  23. Great set of images Geof, and fantastic to see you imaging and posting again. Could you briefly comment on the imaging conclusion? Are you at X5 the camera pixel or something else?
