Yes but producing the exact right length / wheel sizes and so on in a few numbers must be expensive.
Remember thos ones maintain the proper ratios on our mount and do not require to use eqmod.
The guy who designed this said it was complicated to implement and needed some special tools and mods on the mount itself. I wonder how it is done and wish there was a clear how-to on the internet somewhere... (he suggests doing it himself for a fee, but this would require sending the mount to hungaria...)

Hi all !
I recently purchased a Lacerta OAG at Teleskop Austria. Since I'm a new client, I went around and watched the mount accessories they had.
And hey, what did I find ?

I wrote them an email to find out if this mod did change the way the Synscan HC was acting.
And apparently not. With this kit you can keep on using the HC just like before, without having to go through the EQmod routine...

Oh and another intereting fact : it seems like the RC8 has the same curvature as 80mm apo refractors, just like my Equinox.
This is why i tend to think it all should be working.

Yes of course thanx for pointing out my mistake.
On paper this setup SHOULD be working. FLO says it doesn't. Others say it should.
Being in the Paris area, with the bad weather we've had, i dont know when I'll be able to give this a try. And when I'm out on the field, wich is not very often, I prefer not to have to do testing...

Hi all ! I'm getting mixed answers to my question depending on the sources so I might as well try here.
I bought this gizmo a while back for my Equinox 80ED.
My main imager is now a GSO RC8" at f8.
I use a CCDT67 as a reducer on this one.
I was wondering if I could use the SW flatener along with it. The setup would be as follows :
450D > T2 ring > SW flatener with M48 extension screwed off > CCDT67.
The CCDT67 brings the f8 to f5.5 (more or less) so I guess the focal ratio fits the SW flattener.
Since the CCD67 is NOT a reducer, do you think that train of gear could actually work out ?
I also have a TS 2" flattener for RC, but the required distance between the sensor and the lens makes it impossible to use along with the CCDT67. They would require to overlap.
Thanx for your input !

Ok I had FLO online, they tell me both are EXACTLY the same. I went for the SW...

Hi ! Any update on this flattener compared to the WO one?
SYNSCAN Alignment star list
in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups

Hi all !
I'm digging up the thread.
These long exhaustive lists dont come near what I got as alignment stars suggested when i do a 1 or 3 stars alignment procedure. These are the lists existing in the catalog, but not the one that are suggested to make the alignment ? Or is there a way to unlock those as alignment stars ?
i.e. I am doing a simple one star alignment when shooting an abject. I choose as alignment star a star sually as close as possible to the shot object.
So i.e. if I want to shoot M20, I would tend to choose Kause borealis as an alignment star. But it's just not available... So how do I do ?
