Anyone found issues of Windows Vista or 7 not seeing the cam as a SPC900 after the flash?.. I done both of mine, XP is more than happy in seeing both as SPC900NC and work fine. Installed the SPC900 drvier software on both my vista & W7 machines, w7 just does not recognise the cam.. vista does not pick up what it is to start with.. then after a short time displays spc900nc and try's to install a driver. That finishes but it does not work. device manger displays 'not recognised'
Rob
Windows 7 64bit here and it shows as an unspecified USB device, looking into the properties it shows drivers for the SPC900NC video and microphone. It works fine in skype and capture programs, stopped working on the original USB port though, changed ports and its seen again.
Vista 32bit and it shows up in Devices under sounds I think it was.

Nice one, how did you fix it? Or what did you do wrong

How about £29.73 inc delvery
Sorted after a run around on the phone with long "holds" ... and got them for the Friday price and hopefully delivered to the right address this time...
Is that what they are up to now? They are on the website for 6.99 still.
I noticed one of mine has what appears to be a dead pixel or two as there is an artifact on the image, the other one is fine though. Looks like one for the computer and one for the scope

They do, but I think its just the installer that's different, the drivers seem to be the same.
Well I can get them running okay so all must be good now to do a bit of research about turning the light off and fittings, would love to be able to screw it into my Atik filter wheel to avoid keep taking the UV/IR filter out.

That's correct for the max res. The drivers are probably the same ones carried over from Vista, hence the date. I think Philips have some newer drivers on the website?

Thanks for the heads up Russ, two ordered on Friday arrived today and duly flashed in XP.
Now I need to make sure I have it all correctly done, never had a webcam before. In Win7 64bit show up as USB composite device unspecified, although go deeper and the cam and microphone are listed below it. Software sees them as an SPC 900NC so the drivers are installed although dated 2007? In XP they show up in the explorer window correctly.
Max res is 640*480 ?

Jim,
The servers have been down all weekend by the looks of things, in Boinc check the messages and see if there is a problem connecting to the internet. That basically means the servers are down.

Great service from FLO again, clearance bargains arrived within two working days all as described together with the clouds. Now looking forward to getting that EQ5 motorised in the near future with an upgrade kit from you.
Many thanks.

Try "The Stargazers Lounge" as the team search, less quotes obviously.

If only units could be downloaded I am down to my last 3 yet to be processed and my i7 chomps through 8 at a time trying to see if I can break 2000 RAC with one machine but I can't get the work.

Quantum 4 binoculars and bracket arrived today after ordering yesterday in a big box with lots of green polystyrene to play with too
Speedy service and Steve answered a PM late Monday evening well outside business hours, Thanks and good luck on the move, lets see if these binos work when this cloud clears.

Sorted, my new account was a member so it left and I could join with my old account, must be an IP check to ensure only one member from one IP in a team.
Thanks anyways
-
No longer a member and I have the option to join on other teams, i did create a new account but then realised my old account is still active, hmm i wonder if its IP related.
-
Looks like a setting on the owners side, I can initiate a change of founder but can't join
-
I have had an account since 1999, no credits though as I was in a team, I am trying to join the team here but there is no join button on the team page?
Am I missing something???

Mike,
Do you mean just a basic fitting to the scope mod? Or the long exposure Mod?
For the former Philips SPC900NC Webcam for Astrophotography
Just got my adapter through and it took me about a minute to fit. Now its nice and snug in my imaging case awaiting for some cloud clearance and targets.
