Hello, first let me say hopefully I'm posting in the right section. I've been planning on taking a trip up to the Headlands International Dark Sky Park in Mackinaw City, Michigan for a little while now, and just wanted to see if anybody has been there and can attest to whether it's a very great location or not. I've done a few Google searches looking for good stargazing locations in the US, where the night sky is really just filled with stars everywhere you look, and the Headlands park seemed to show up in most lists either at or close to the top, and it is relatively close to where I live (Lansing, Michigan). But I just want to see if anybody has any info on the location, or if it's not really all that great could possibly recommend any others. Thank you!

Hello! New member here of course, I've just been wondering what the quite visible light source that's been near the moon lately is, whether it's a star or if it's a planet. Not sure what information would be needed, but I attached a couple pictures I took, in Lansing, Michigan facing South, slightly South-Eastish. (Hopefully the image quality isn't too poor, but it's the small dot to the top right of the moon)
