  1. Ta. I haven't done any longer than 25 seconds to be fair but I'm guessing that there must be a threshold depending on the subject. With the sun/moon being relatively bright compared to other targets then they wouldn't require as much time(?).
  2. Last night's moon. 28% waxing. The image on the left is a single shot whilst the second is a stacked image taken from a 25 second avi.
  3. The first is a single RAW exposure. The second one is a video stack using the 4x zoom in the app 👍🏼
  4. I was over for the week and this, not unsurprisingly, was about the only clear early night that I had! Many thanks for the information though 👍🏼
  5. On the Isle of Skye last week. The dark skies really do make the stars sparkle. Both of these are single shots - 15 seconds at ISO 640 using a Sony A7III and a Viltrox 16mm at f1.8.
  6. This is the core of the Heart Nebula - IC1805 - from last night. 20 minutes of 10 second shots stacked with an L-extreme filter.
  7. Thank you. Yes, we a few days last week were they were present, like others. Quite spectacular to see, especially if you have polarised sunglasses!!
  8. I can’t remember seeing Nacreous clouds so clear and intense as they were on Sunday. They were present for pretty much all of the day but were at their most spectacular around sunrise and sunset.
  9. I’m pretty sure Station mode only works on the 2.4G frequency.
  10. A couple more. The Pacman last night - an hour of subs stacked - and the moon this evening.
  11. First light on my Seestar last night - just under an hour on M31. To the left is the stacked image from the Seestar untouched and on the right for comparison is the 300+ individual images stacked and tweaked.
  12. Many thanks Lee. It had been cloudy for most of the evening but fortunately I got a clearing of the clouds just as the moon rose. This one was taken with a Sony A7IV and a Tokina 20mm Firin f2.0 MF - 20 seconds at ISO800. Jim
  13. This was early last Thursday morning, around 01:30, with the moon rising as the clouds cleared. The Pleiades are visible to the upper right of the moon with Jupiter further over to the right providing just enough light to illuminate the heather. There's even a meteor if you look closely at the top of the shot above the moon. This is Loch Buidhe, which is above Loch Muick, in The Cairngorms National Park, Scotland.
  14. This was sunrise last week in The Cairngorms, Scotland. A temperature inversion covering most of the north east of Scotland rolled the clouds in overnight with the added bonus of the sun pillar as the sun rose. The first image is taken close to the summit of Carn Liath and the second above Carn Liath using a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.
  15. A bit late posting these but here are a couple from last week. The aurora through the clouds above Bennachie - Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
  16. Many thanks for the kind words and comments and I very much take your point about the colours. I think I was still in "wow" mode when I made the edits so the likelihood was to go "more is more". I'm back at home now so I will certainly revisit the (many) shots I have again. These were taken at Portnaluchaig (well spotted!) so very little light pollution at all, apart from the moon. I was just about to turn in when the alerts started arriving. The next hour or two was spent just watching the sky dancing - an experience that I will never forget. Thanks again for your comments! Jim
  17. A couple of Aurora shots from last Sunday evening. These are taken from a mile or so north of Arisaig with the first picture looking over towards the Isle of Rum. A magical night and fortunate to be in the right place at the right time!
  18. Finally getting some darkish skies again here. This was taken last Friday morning as the moon rose above the surrounding mountains. Taken above Dubh Loch in the east of the Cairngorms. Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Sony A7IV, Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide Heliar. 20 seconds, ISO 400, f6.3.
  19. The RPi is very sensitive to power it's power supply I believe. I was using the Argon One V2 case with the standard RPi PSU (Astroberry, EKOS, PHD2) and was having random crashes. I noticed that the Argon case has a dedicated PSU which supplies slightly higher volts and amps. Since using this PSU I've had no crashes. I am also using the Pegasus Powerbox Advance so not powering anything directly from the RPi. Not sure if this your issue but maybe a possibility?
  20. Fisheye Friday night and a return to darker skies at last. The Milky Way, Jupiter and a lonesome Perseus.
  21. Taken last night - a hint of noctolucent cloud as twilight draws in over Aberdeenshire. Sony A7iii + Voigtlander 15mm. 1 second at ISO400
