  1. This image came from the first set of subs i took in a dual setup system at the start of April. One camera was at near-45 degrees to the other so i fixed the problem and promptly forgot about these. Having re-found them I decided to try processing them anyway despite having to heavily crop, and no worthwhile flats. Happily most of my ccd dust is towards the edge of frame so they mostly got cut out. Each scope produced just 10 each of LRGB 300" and one did an additional 10 x 300" Ha I have treated this as more of a trial than anything else, but c&c are always welcomed. Thanks for looking
  2. The is very much guys. souls33k3r; this is from my twin TMB/APM1200/152 - SX-H694. Happily I live next to an army base so I usually get good dark skies (when they aren’t playing!).
  3. Got back in the saddle with a high familiar target. Loads of issues from non-use, and an extremely lucky escape when a heavy shower of rain bowled through when i had fallen asleep and soaked everything (happily I got away with just losing a usb hub). This is a cropped stack from 48 x 7 minutes Ha (1x1) and 70 x 7 minutes O111 (1x1) plus 20 x 7 minutes O111 (2x2) as the 1x1 O111 was weak; 7 minutes is as long as I can avoid guiding (but that's another issue) and arguably i have pushed it too far anyway. I have some rgb but it is terrible. Cropped to remove edges from different evenings etc
  4. I can't comment specifically on either the 80 or 100mm versions but I have found APM to make extremely well-made triplet scopes that need no fiddling (at least the LZOS versions).
  5. NFU, been with them years and they have paid up without question when i dropped a solarscope; couldn't recommend them highly enough, they cover all the usual household paraphenalia, and at >£60,000 total contents and are used to sheds with high value items but a little does depend on who you get so might be worth asking a couple of local farmers (??) who they use
  6. Thanks for the comments. This is a triple rig that I put together after my father died and I wanted to do something a bit special. The primary scope is a reduced Tak100 with an Atik 16200 and is flanked on each side by a reduced Tak85 with Atik383. Its been a right pita to link and is still very much work in progress.
  7. Whilst i was getting a close up of the Bubble with my longer setup, I also pointed the widefield setup at the same patch of sky. Image scale is from 2.7-3.4" with the different cameras so not ideal; or at least I don't know enough to smooth everything out and not make it oil-slicked. SH2-157 The Claw Nebula and star cluster M52 are clearly visible. 35 x 10' H, 26 x 10' O and 31 x 10' S I rejected quite a lot of O due to temperamental focussing and the image is slightly cropped due to camera rotation. Thanks for looking; c&c always welcomed
  8. That is rather good and I really like the wider view
  9. The antenae look a lot better defined on this version and the core is imo excellent; well worth revisiting!
  10. Second image with my dual imaging kit and since the moon was up and no real dark i am on narrowband subjects. The Bubble is familiar to all so needs no explanation, other than this image is 47 x 10' H, 44 x 10' O and 43 x 10' S taken over three nights this last week. I'm all ears about palette feedback as I find SHO quite difficult thanks for looking
  11. Thank you for the comments. I will keep trying to improve.
  12. First post in a while due to silly amount of work this spring (frequently coinciding with the rare clear nights) and re-jigging my scopes/obs into a dual system The last two evenings have been clear so despite the half moon i decided to image a familiar target - M51 Whirlpool Galaxy. I have had many scores of subs sorting alignment and flexure issues but i think i am finally getting there now. This is LRGB only as SGP made a total mess of the focus in my Ha channel and i haven't worked that one out yet. Due to the half hour of astro darkness and even with 3' and 5' subs the flats had a lot of work to do; if you look closely you will see they were only just adequate for the job. Enough preamble; thanks for looking
  13. Having again missed clear nights last week as i was away on business, this is a topic right at the top of my to-do list so keen to see how people have approached this. Thanks for the prod Mike.
  14. I kept my sensible head on and have not bid, nor will I. I am putting my spare cash to another fairly last minute trip to Monsieur Olly just after Easter. Bid away ?
  15. I think you might have to exercise some restraint for a day or two yet ?. I am seriously tempted, by the Pentax but may get my sensible head on tomorrow. Or maybe not. Probably not actually. ?
  16. Oh how I wish I hadn't looked at this thread today, that Pentax is about 6 miles from me. Resist!
  17. RobH has the right word - staggering. Olly, you were talking about this project (in its infancy) nearly two years ago when there were two 106s on your kitchen table and i am delighted to see the results; you and Tom have worked very hard on this and this image is a credit to you both for your tenacity and sheer blumming-mindedness in completing. Well done to both
  18. thanks all, a good resource for all like the little ditty about "Red means stay indoors and browse your favourite Astro retailers website ;-)"
