  1. Forgot to ask also, would a 7mm Plossl eye piece or just a 7mm eyepiece. I am very ignorant, my background is electron microscopes, the other extreme! Thanks again for any help
  2. Thanks, that is very helpful, I am new to using a telescope and know the one I have is a beginner scope and I'm not going to see loads but it is good to have some idea of what will give me the highest practical magnification. Would you recommend a moon filter to help with contrast too? Thanks
  3. I have just got a skywatcher 130eq second hand. It came with just a x2 Barlow. So we could use it I bought a x20 eyepiece. I can see craters on the moon, but what would people recommend to get the best magnification from this telescope. Thanks
  4. I wonder if someone could advise me. I have a skywatcher explorer 130 eq telescope with the bolt missing that attatches the telescope to the tripod, so it is not secure enough to use at the moment. Can I use a plastic knob headed bolt, generic m10 thread? from eg ebay or is it a specific skywatcher part? Any help is welcome, the correct part name would be useful too! I feel this give be the start of many "help I need advice " posts. Thanks
