  1. This Altair is 1300eur with the the reducer kit. Brand new but not from an astroshop so no warranty which bothers me a bit.
  2. Hmmm much to think about. 'Problem' is that I really have too much scopes TBH: 70ED,80ED,80 achro,120 achro,127 Mak, Meade 8" and a C11... I thought about replacing the 80ED and 120 achro for the 115mm but AP will never be my main goal and I have some other stuff too So it's hard to justify the extra expense, even with selling 2 scopes.
  3. You almost had me and made me go for an eye check tomorrow....:) I doubt if it would be worth it then. I'd use it for visual and some beginner DSLR AP but I already got the SW 80ED and an old Evostar 120 achro. The last one is for pure visual of course
  4. It really gives great views except some CA on bright stuff of course.
  5. Yeah the wooden tripod is kinda tiny. My GP is on an AL110 now
  6. Sorry,my phone refuses to copy the link... It's the Altair 115mm APO triplet
  7. Hi Does anyone have this scope: I am looking for an upgrade and I have the chance to buy this one. Thanks in advance
  8. I got a Vixen GP and a GP-DX with GoTo function. Got an 80M (sold my 102M) to match

    A little late....

I've done a few post here without realising I haven't introduced myself. Sorry about that Anyway, I'm Nick. I took my first steps in astronomy and astro-clubs when I was around 13y old. Did it for around 3 years but in fact, my friend and I were more goofing around than doing anything serious hehe. Kinda lost my interest for 25 years but 2 years ago I picked the hobby up again when I bought my house. My plan was to have one telescope (bought a third hand LX90 8") but after two years yeah well.... Kinda got excited a bit and slowly building up my collection and learning bit by bit. Cheers from Belgium.
  10. Got to love full Vixen sets!!! Also got two of them.... Finally.... 80M and 102M with GP and GP-DX. These oldies give nice, clear views!
  11. Now that my GP-DX finally has been upgraded with GoTo, I was taking a good look at my polar scope (I never did until yesterday 🙄) I noticed batteries so I took it apart. Well, I know now what the little white wheel is for...:) One started leaking so I cleaned the contacts with vinegar but then I noticed a part of the wheel is broken off (probably the dial). This regulates the LED I presume so now there is no way in using it. Is it even possible to replace this part/piece? I like to keep things fully operational, even when I don't use them. Other option is to put a polar scope in from the EQ5. I read that works too.
  12. Sorry for not responding earlier. I didn't get a notification.... Yeah Robin can be a d**k sometimes He's Dutch you know... I went to a hardware store and they couldn't help me. They didn't even bother to measure it. Going to try another shop this week but I don't think they even have these kind of screws. Found some for the Meade 8x50 but I don't know if that would work. They look the same though. And yeah...the moment it sled out of the mount....I was devastated but I have good hopes if I could ever collimate it again with this damn weather. I think this is one of our biggest fears!
  13. Two weeks ago,my C5 OTA struck the ground (I know, the horror!!!!). All seems fine but I need to do a star test when the weather will allow me to....maybe in 2 months or so Anyway...One of the plastic/nylon thumbscrews of the viewfinder also broke. This afternoon I went to a hardware store but they can't help me because they only got metric stuff. Does anyone know which size these are. I tried one of my Skywatcher 6x30 screws but they are too big. My C5 is the black ota with orange letters and the original viewfinder.
  14. I really don't see any tampering with it at first sight. Probably would have to disassemble a leg to check it. Or it is a rare unknown model I don't know about the newton... . It came with an 100ED but this might be not the OTA that was used with this tripod. No plans for now except not selling it except when someone REALLY needs one. I bought an original Vixen AL90 to mount my DX on.
  15. I did a quick measure. Distance from attachment to the mount base to the ground is 70cm.
  16. Gonna measure it asap but I really doubt it's 110.
  17. Don't see any evidence on first sight... Might have to remove some stuff to check that. Gonna keep it anyway but I was curious what this type could be. @dweller25yeah I have some plans with it and the missing parts are on the way from Japan Too bad the motors are useless ATM.
  18. The HAL110 extends from 70 to 110cm This one goes to 60cm extended which makes it not a 110 or am I mistaken :)?
  19. Yeah it looks like the HAL110 but the mini version and I also don't find anything about it.
