  1. Looks great, I have the Redcat with the ZWO 183 mc pro. Great little pairing.
  2. That looks ace, I also have the IDAS NBZ filter for my Redcat 51. These are two targets I want to attempt when the dark nights return to scotland in September.
  3. Just used what Came with the camera. I’ll take a photo and post it.
  4. Never had to use one up here in the North East, maybe i've not been out long enough to need one.
  5. I've been using 53 for targets with my L-pro and 111 for narrowband work. The amp glow doesnt bother me as its easy to calibrate out in Pixinsight. Thanks for the reply.
  6. Hey, My current scope / camera setup is the WO Redcat V1.5 and the 183 MC Pro cooled camera. When I used it for the first time on the 29th of September I noticed that my stars near the edges didn't look right. I've measures the distance and i have 55mm back spacing, but with a filter drawer and filter inside. I got someone on one of my regular fb groups to run one of my raws through a program that looks for tilt etc and the results are show below. seems i have 1% tilt and 16% curvature. How do i go about fixing these? I've never heard of tilt and i expected my field of view to be flat as that was the whole point in buying the recdcat. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Just an update, turns out this white vignetting was coming from my darks, my rig was leaking in light so i was gretting bright darks, locking my rig in a cupboard and doing darks sorted this problem.
  8. Thanks Martin, I'm super pleased with it, just a shame I've not been able to add more data! Really impressed with the L-pro filter. Have yet to test it on brighter stars like the ones near the California nebula or the Horsehead to see if there is any considerable haloing like with the L-extreme. Loving my new Redcat and 183 mc pro combo although I've got some tilt to sort and my field of view isnt 100% flat (possible due to having a filter installed).
  9. 2 hours of integration time (25 x 5mins) using the SW EQM-35 pro mount. Stacked and edited in Pixinsight. First time using the my new WO Redcat and 183 mc pro and the asi air pro (omg love plate solving). L-Pro Gain 53 5mins x 25 Darks, Dark Flats and Flats
  10. Hi, I have been using the 183 mc pro since September and have trying to find some info on the best gain to use for galaxies and for nebula with the L-extreme. I have currently been using 53 gain on my asi aie pro app. Kind Regards, Mark
  11. Thanks for the reply, pretty miffed I've bought a new camera and it's not 100% lol... either way the updated redcats come with a tilt adjuster and I got someone to put one of my raw frames through a program to identify where the tilt is. It's just finding the time to do it and do it correct when imaging nights are percious!
  12. I've noticed I have this problem too, what is tilt and how do you fix it? I have a redcat and 183 mc pro.
  13. Hi, So in Pixinsight I tried out using WBPP, i put my lights, darks, flats and flat darks through the script and the attach image came out with this white vignetting. I've never used WBPP before so wouldn't know the first place to look in the settings to fix this. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say it's something to do with my flats. I use a redcat and 183 mc pro astro camera. Any help appreciated.
  14. dear god that thread has giving me the fear of throwing my money at the CEM26 or the GEM28, although not everyone was having the issue the op was expeirencing. You'd expect for a mount that costs over a grand that there wouldnt be these types of issues!
  15. Yeah I've come to the conclusion i must be seeing a natural dither in my images when flicking through them.
  16. Hey, im looking at getting this mount, does anyone have any experience with it?
  17. Hi there, So I use PHD2 for auto-guiding, and set up dithering within it. Now I just assumed when i started up auto-guiding in PHD2 that it would just start dithering as per the dithering settings in the advanced settings tab. I've noticed when using blink on my light frames in Pixinsight that my images randomly shift. I have no issues with walking noise. My question is, am I actually dithering via PHD2 or do i need some other software to do it? Someone in an astro Facebook group has challenged me on this, regardless of what I tell him, but I lack the technical understanding to give him an informed reply. Cheers, Mark
  18. Hi, Honestly can't decide between the WO Redcat or the WO GT-71 II I'm upgrading from the SW 72 ED telescope. I currently use a Fuji XT2, but would be looking to eventually upgrade to a dedicated astro camera. Any advice or experiences with either scope would be appreciated.
  19. Whats the integration times on the images? They all look great.
  20. That looks great, think this will be my next target after I'm finished with M42.
  21. For flat darks, do you switch it back to manual mode and set the sutterspeed to the length of your flats? (lens cap one).
