  1. @Cornelius Varley @johninderby thanks for the replies. Much appreciated Mark
  2. I have a Vixen GPDX mount which is in perfect condition on a pedestal and has never had any drives on it. I`m using an Orion Optics 10" Europa on it (8kg/17.6lbs) I want to fit it with an goto drive setup to try some astrophotography. The Skywatcher Synscan upgrade https://ktectelescopes.ie/Skywatcher-SynScan-Goto-Upgrade-Kit-HEQ5.html and https://sites.google.com/view/astro-gadget/control-of-telescopes/eq-control/eqstar-eq5-goto-drive-kit?authuser=0 seem to be the best options as far as I can see. Any advice would be most helpful. Thanks in advance. Mark
  3. Thanks for the response How did you tune it ? My alternative is a second hand Skywatcher eq6 pro but its €399 versus €900 and seems such a shame to not use a classic like the GPDX (Which is is pristine condition)
  4. Hi all,has anybody ever put the Synscan Goto Upgrade (With motor drives) on a Vixen GPDX ? My one has never had drives on it. I use an Orion Optics Europa 10" on it (8kg/17.5lbs) The goal is to use this set-up for astrophotography. Thanks in advance.
  5. @Hallingskies I have a beautiful GPDX which has never had any motor drives on it. It is on a pillar with an Orion Optics 10" reflector (8kg/17.6lbs) Would you recommend the Synscan Upgrade ? I want to do some astrophotography with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards Mark
