I am awaiting the arrival of some 15x70 binoculars.
I am relatively new to the hobby and have been trawling several forums and websites, but it is easy to get lost moving from one link to the next.
So can anyone recommend a tripod or monopod, and ball head, to use with the binoculars. I don't have a top end budget, but sense has to prevail with cost. I will be using them to look at the night skies. I don't mind standing, but would like to sit when viewing, I believe it would be difficult with a tripod, but I have seen some setups with horizontal arms (if that makes sense)!
Thanks in advance to all who reply (hopefully).

Thanks cletrac1922.
Hope the skies are clear for you. I remember seeing the Southern Cross on one of my many visits down under, before I caught the sky gazing bug.

Thanks Startinez. Yes just used the standard camera on my Motorola G4, held over the eyepiece of my USCAMEL spotting scope.

Hello to all fellow watchers of the skies.
I'm relatively new to stargazing, and using binoculars at the moment, before diving into the world of telescopes.
I do a lot of looking up to the skies from an urban environment, but being on the edge of the magnificent North Yorkshire Moors I able to get to some unpolluted light areas.
I am working my way across the night sky.

Looking for opinions on choice of binocular.
I have currently recently started to view the moon and stars from my urban back yard using binoculars.
I am looking to upgrade and think I have currently narrowed my choice down to Orion Mini Giant 15x63, or Opticron Oregon 20x80.
Have any members used one of the other, or both?
I don't mind using a tripod.
My first post on this site.
