I have just noticed your message and I will be happy to let you have a list of parts and where I sourced them. I know I have a drive pulley that is a perfect fit for the 127 Mak which you are welcome to for what it cost me which is less than the present price. It will take me a while to look up all the suppliers and parts list but I will sort it out when quickly as I can. I might have some more parts in my box if you would be interested, but in will check anyway.

I have my 127 Mak on a AZ5 Mount and imo is a great combination.

When you sort out the bent vane why don’t you have a look at the Asronomy and Nature you tube video on collimation with a laser. I struggled at first but after following their video instructions I can now do the job in a few minutes.

Are you sure the screws are UNC ? I have found most telescopes use M3/4/5 screws. If you want to make sure let me know the approximate size and length and I will send you some to try.

I have found most Skywatcher screws to be M4 or M5, let me know how long you want them and I will send you some of each.

Hi Paul, welcome to SGL. In this hobby there is no size fits all solution but it is advisable to remember what has always been very good advice, the telescope you use most often is your best. I started with a 200 P dob and now have a SW ST 120 and a 127 Mak and they all get used. Good luck and enjoy your new hobby.

I use a monopod with a trigger grip ball joint and it gives me most positions I need for viewing.

There are some tutorials on YouTube which I found to be very helpful.
