  1. Good evening everyone, I have scoured the Web in search for an answer here. I am wondering if there is a way to use my Atik 428ex as a guiding camera woth PHD2? I Guessing that there isn't as none of the Atik cameras on the drop down allow me to connect. So my question would then be is there any trickery that can be done to allow me to use the camera as a guide camera? 🤔 Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise me Many Thanks Gary
  2. What target we're you imaging with the 135mm? Nice wide field of view with that lens
  3. This my latest version of the Soul Nebula in Cassiopiea. This is an Ha oiii with rgb stars added composite image. Skywatcher 130pds Cg4/eq 3-2 mount with eqstar pro beltmod. Skywatcher coma corrector. Canon 450d modified camera. Svbony 7nm Ha filter, astronomik 12nm oiii filter. 50/183 guidescope with t7c cam. Bortle 5 zone
  4. I'm going to get on that then for sure. I am guiding my 130pds with a 50mm guide scope. I can't complain with results, but If multi star guide will squeeze a little more out of the mount its got to be a good thing. I'll have to post my results and an image up here. This thread is amazing Clear skies
  5. How consistent is your guiding over the period of a night, that's very impressive. I to have a cg4 mount. On a good night I get between .58 and .8 RMS. Did you find that multistar made much of a difference I must get that up and running.
  6. Hiya all, I had almost given up trying to guide my camera as couldn't get past calibration in phd2. So I thought I would disconnect the declination motor and see if I could get calibration to complete in ra axis. I since discovered that the Manual guide mode dosn't seem to correspond to ra and dec axis as they should. South pulse and east pulse controls my ra motor? I believe that east and west should correspond to ra axis? Am I correct to assume that the st4 port has possibly been wired wrong at the factory? Can phd2 be configured to fix this problem. This is a weird one. Thanks in advance and any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks again gary
  7. Hiya to all, I have a few questions that more experienced members may be able to shed light on, or someone who has a fair understanding of electronics, as my understanding is somewhat unlimited. My current setup uses the enhanced motordrive form skywatcher. DC motors rated six volts. I have just started autoguiding and am aware that my Duracell batteries run out very quickly. Is it possible to use rechargeable batteries now that auto guiding is rigged up? My concern is that the batteries are 1.2volt rather than 1.5volt. Is auto guiding able to make up for the under voltage or would that be a massive waste of time or worse destroy my motors? A better solution or any solution to this power dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading Clearskies
