I only have a shot of the computer screen after stacking the image from the 14" in dss and the same image after loading into gimp

I'm using dss for stacking, the image from my redcat are colour when I put them in gimp for processing but they're black and white when using my 14" using the same camera and settings, I've got to check the settings in gimp but I've never altered anything in there Inbetween swapping scopes!

The image was in colour after I stacked them, when I went to edit the stacked image in gimp it was black and white, I kept the same settings after I switched scopes to the redcat and the images from that were ok, I checked the settings in apt and the debayer box is checked.

Hi all I recent took some images of the orion nebula with my meade 14" and my zwo asi533, when I uploaded the image into gimp the image was black and white, so the following night I used my redcat 51and the resulting image was in colour, I used the same settings on both nights, 180 second exposures, gain 100, offset 70, does anyone know why this could have happened, would it have anything to do with the different f/ratio of the 2 telescopes. Don't know what the guiding error is, I don't get to use the scope much due to cloud cover, so grab few shots when i can and see how they turn out and make a few adjustments , done a few 10 second subs last night before the clouds rolled in some looked ok others were a bit bloated

The collimation is ok. My images are out of focus, I've locked the mirror up and I'm only using the zero image shift focuser to focus, my test exposures are 25seconds but when I view my images and zoom in everything is slightly out of focus, I've been using vega to focus then I went over to the andromada galaxy took a couple of images when I checked them they were out of focus.

It's permanently set up in my observatory.

I'm not using an eyepiece, I'm using my asi 533 camera and live view in apt to do my focusing.

Hi everyone. I have I meade lx850 14"sct which I have just started using for astrophotography, I use a bahtinov mask to do my focusing when I get the central spikes centred my images are slightly out of focus . Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this issue. Thanks

Thanks I had the exposure time set at 20 seconds when I tried imaging beatleguese will try longer exposure when I next get clear skies

Hi , my new zwo 533 has arrived used to have dslr, I imaged the moon last night to check the camera is working with asicap, moved on to image a few stars I managed to get a faint image of betlegues which I could barely see and couldn't make out any other stars on my laptop, what adjustments should i make in order to be able to see any stars on my laptop. Thanks in advance .

Yes my mount is noisey to, my starlock menu seems to disappear after I've polar aligned the scope.

Hi I have a meade lx850 with starlock, the scope has been polar aligned , when I go into the utilities menu I am unable to find the starlock menu, I have heard of others wo have been unable to going it with some saying its a dodgy starlock data cable so I disconnected the cable then reconnected it turned on the scope it asked to align scope but I decided to scroll to the utilities menu and that's when I found the starlock menu, the I realigned the scope parked the scope turned it off then back on and I couldn't find the starlock menu again this happens twice anybody got any ideas.

It was the first chance I've had since September to open the roof and do the alignment knew I was close to the pleiades but couldn't tell from the image now I know why, I'm looking to get a cmos camera soon but haven't decided which one yet, my exposure times varied between 15 and 20 seconds. As for the image at the top right I don't know what it is.

Ok thanks for the reply. Will recentre polaris in the eyepiece again using the hand controller should i press enter to align it with polaris again or not.

I have a meade lx850 I polar aligned it then skewed to vega centerd it and alignment was successful, when I commanded the scope to sleep to polaris it was off by a few degrees in the finder scope and I had the same result when I skewed the scope back to vega. Could I correct this error by using the adjustment knobs on the mount. Thanks.

My second attempt at imaging with unmoded dslr and meade 14 " lx850 , polar aligned the scope but it was out slightly when slewed the scope back to polaris, but its not far out so I decided to take a couple of images of the pleiades or I thought I did, what are your thoughts on these images. Any feedback is greatly appreciated
