Hey
Quick query about the "connection" between my Skywatcher EQ2 tripod and the GEM bit. Even when I've got the screw as tight as I can that runs from the underside of the tripod baseplate into the GEM it's still pretty easy for the mount to spin on the tripod, particularly if I haven't loosened the RA clutch enough when I go to move the OTA.
And that obviously mucks up any polar alignment I've got which is super annoying.
Is there anything I can do to get the tripod baseplate/GEM connection less slippy? I was thinking maybe gently roughening the very smooth coating that both mount and baseplate are finished with? Or attaching thin rubber or cork to increase friction?
Cheers for any advice
