  1. From the album: 222mm (8.7 in) F 7.3 home-made single-pole telescope.

Bearing kit including side bearings, teflon & Ebony Star laminate purchased from David Lukehurst.
  2. From the album: 222mm (8.7 in) F 7.3 home-made single-pole telescope.

Design inspired by Ross Sackett. This is the scope I put out when mainly cloudy on the offchance of it clearing or when there are infrequent gaps in the clouds for those brief glimpses of a planet, the moon or a specific astronomical event that might otherwise be missed if I used my larger scope that takes longer to cool to ambient temperature.
  3. Although this had a good mirror and an undersized secondary, the design compromised contrast due to lack of effective baffling. Went into skip as I had to leave the country & didn't have time to dispose of otherwise !!

    350mm F5 in 2004

    From the album: 350mm (13.8 in.) F5 home-made single-pole telescope

Original build in 2004 made according to Kriege & Berry specs. Was very heavy with long, fiddly set-up as had to be stored broken down.
